I beseech thee, do not depart my brethren

Post#1 » by Devilzsidewalk » Fri Jun 27, 2008 1:14 pm

Its about camaraderie isn't it? Not superstars and dynasties. I personally started a playoff game thread on the San Antonio board a season or 2 ago - AFTER the game had started, because there wasn't one. The Cavs have the greatest superstar in the game and their board is a graveyard too.

the Wolves board is active, it's banging. I come for the fight, not for the trophy. I think lots of you do too. We've been a beaten up organization, but I still come here almost every day and talk Wolves.

Don't break up a good thing. If this team always did everything right, always did the expected, then I wouldn't be able to relate and I'd probably go find another diversion in my life. But this team is bold, unpredictable, and sometimes completely **** crazy..... and just like my life. I love it.

Inspiring. For real.

But I would have been more inspired with Mayo.

I know I know...I was ready to accept Mayo too. But we move on, no matter what. Just don't quit, thats disheartening.

wow, you actually compared your life to a wolves organisation?
let me guess: nobody likes you, nobody wants to hung with you, all your girlfriends dumped you, but you somehow once got a superhot and loyal girlfriend, but you repeatedly cheated on her with some ugly ho'es and spent all your money on them, and when she finally dumped you, she married a millionaire and screamed: "this is for devilz!", at the wedding. also you're a little mentally (Please Use More Appropriate Word) and your crib is hella cold. and once a policeman caught you with a hooker and that hooker gave you herpes, so you hadn't been able to find a new girl for three years, and when you finally found one, she turned out to be a complete dissapointment and started talking about herself in 3rd person.

I don't think we have to worry about many people leaving. All talk, I'm sure.

yay!

I honestly do feel bad for you guys, thats why I wasn't really bummed at all when we initially drafted Mayo even though I bashed him to an unfair point, because I knew all you guys really wanted him and would be crushed if it didn't workout.

NBA Draft is a crazy time. And my favorite time. But still crazy.

Hold the Mayo....spread the love. I will stay here Devil. I considered retirement at the end of the season, but I really like this deal and I want to stay here.

If I didn't leave after the KG trade, I'm not leaving after this.

Yea, Im likely here to stay. I tried to sleep on it, unsuccessfully, but I talked to someone who kind of put things in perspective. I wanted Mayo bad. The 2nd round was a travesty to me. I had 5 guys on my board from the late 1st still there, we took #4 and sold him. Like Worm Guts, i didnt leave after KG, didnt leave after Roy-Foye, I just cant walk away from something I have poured so much of my life into. It probably sounds lame, but I feel like I have had an impact on the Wolves somehow, I grew up watching them. This is my team. Our team. I was ready to quit, but I dont think I can go cold turkey. Though I dont see myself making the same effort to go to a Wolves game this year as I would have.

Kudos Devilz, you got your guy and I believe you called this exact situation happening (Draft Mayo, end up with Love). Good call.

Good, we need you here for your random theological posts, among other things.

QFT...it's a blessing and a curse...HERE'S TO KEVIN LOVE AND MIKE MILLER!! Let's not take this out on Love and Miller, this is McHale's trade, they had nothing to do with the decision, they're just coming here to play basketball and win, so let's support them! ARROOOOO!!! (that might be my first aroo...)

They didn't draft Love 3rd. So I am happy enough.

I'm still here. I will not depart thee, my devilz. I've just been busy as heck lately and haven't had time to figure out the new site, refresh each page 8 times to get the text wrapping to work, and read the billion draft posts since my last visit.

I'm still not convinced a 2 PF lineup will work but I really hope I am wrong. So, here's to Big Al and Big Love, may they dominate their way to the HOF.

I'm moving over here because one of the "other sites" is full of posters who make it impossible to have a valid discussion. Glad to see there are many solid posters over here!
