OT: frequent trades= New rivary between LA and Golden State?

Post#1 » by Mcfale313 » Sat Jul 19, 2008 5:08 am

I'll sum it up if that's all, starting from last year,

LA claimed Derek Fisher off the waiver from GS
GS rumored to have interests in Brand
LA signed Baron Davis from GS
GS signed Maggette from LA
LA signed Azuibuike to offersheet
GS signed Turiaf...

what happened with these 2 cities....i can see some kinda rivary just developed within the pacific division......fans in LA and Oakland would soon start to hate each other....

which made me think about this question:
does the Wolves have such a rivary team?

answers would be appreciated, thanks

Wow -- when you see them all listed, one-after-the-other, yeah, I can see a rivalry there.

I don't think we have a rivalry in the front office. On the court, I don't think we liked DEN too much a few years ago. If I had to pick one team as a potential rival, I'd probably say POR. We've got the Roy/Foye angle, and ex-Wolf Ricky Davis called them "roaches." We'll probably both be rising teams in the West at about the same time.

Of course, if we signed Darius Miles, ruining Paul Allen's trade exception ... I think its on!

Except its two different LA teams involved.

We have the Paul Allen rivalry with Portland.

mmm...what? Fisher left LA and signed as a FA with Golden State...then went the way of Utah and then back to LA. He never went directly from GS to LA.

I get what you mean, though

cool thanks guys!
I still think POR will be a good rival coz I might be the lone believer but i still think the foye-roy trade could not be concluded so early, foye might have a breakout season next season~ I think a starting line up match up of

Oden VS Jefferson
Alderidge VS Love
Roy VS Foye

would be very interesting to watch for all 4 games between the teams

Man you guys are forgetting some of the biggest kindling to our potential rivalry with Portland.

The whole Przybilla thing, people still hate the guy. Also, Love. There are many Portland fans who hate the guy much like we hate/hated Pryz. If Love ends up being a very good player and if we can get some wins on Por, I could see something developing.
