Do I expect LeBron or Wade or Carmelo or Bosh? No, of course not. Would I mind throwing too much money at a Joe Johnson-type like Orlando did with Lewis? Not if that's what turns the Wolves into a contender.

but Rashard Lewis had a pretty Mike Milleresque season and Orlando will probably be regretting that contract. It didnt make them contenders

well not until now but Howard and even/especially Jameer Nelson still have a lot of room to improve so I wouldn't rule them out until now. but yeah they overpayed horribly.

truth, but knowing D12 was still several years from his prime, they shouldve (in an ideal world sans impatient stars and fans) been patient and waited for the ideal free agents worth the buck

DHo might have been several years from his prime, but his extension wasn't. They grabbed the best player available when they had cap space. If we're in a similar situation with Kevin Love, for example, we'll have a similar tiny window.
