Good player, but we don't need yet another under-sized PF.

Maybe send him to a team that can pitch us a comparable center in a three-way trade?

What? No man, we got a perfect sixth man.

Maxiell rejected the $15 million extension he was offered, the Detroit Free Press reports, and is not expected to accept an extension offer by the October 31 deadline, making him an unrestricted free agent in 2009. He seems to be hoping he can get $6 million per season in the open market, rather than the $5 million per he was offered.

I tried to throw a quick one together

Minnesota sends Rashad McCants to Detroit
Detroit sends Jason Maxiell to New Orleans
New Orleans sends Hilton Armstrong to Minnesota

-Detroit would have to have either Walter Sharpe or Cheikh Samb outgoing (doesnt matter who they would likely be cut) to make the numbers work.

-I have tried to get Armstrong here before, I like the fact that we can have a young 7'0 Center just to see how Jefferson and Cookie do with a true big man next to them, but I dont think I would do this trade. Armstrong might produce but we know McCants CAN produce

Hilton Armstrong is literally New Orleans only backup center. I don't think NO would do that unless they had something in the works to get another big.
