Joakim Noah to Minnesota
Joakim Noah to Minnesota for Rodney Carney and Calvin Booth straight up or + a pick.
Chicago has too many bigs for the offense they now run. Noah would fit into our system much better. Carney would fit into theirs and maybe find more minutes there.
* In Noah we get an energy guy that will bang, rebound and score a few points.
* Carney is not going to find many minutes here even though he is talented.
* Booth is barely an average rebounder, lacks bulk but does block some shots -
we want youth, bulk, rebounding and a decent shooting touch.
I think this line-up would give us +5 rebounds per game and + 5-7 points.
We'd be 3-1 at this time not 1-3.
Noah / Love / Collins
Jefferson / Love / Smith
Brewer / Gomes / Miller
Miller / McCants / Foye
Telfair / Foye / Ollie

Noah might actually be available. I hear he doesn't fit in the Euro-style offense that Del Negro runs. The Bulls would probably want an outside shooter, not a slasher like Carney. McCants for Noah?

I don't really want Noah but if he will come that cheap then I'd grab him.

Re: Joakim Noah to Minnesota
This trade would have been ridiculous last year, but right now, I think its solid. Carney probably allows us to use a later pick, and a lot of Booth's salary is paid by the NBA.
The way I see something like this happening though is as part of another, larger trade. I really think hinrich will eventually be traded, and there is a good chance Nocioni goes too. Depending on what they get back (or what the third team needs), MIN can improve the deal by adding pieces that fit.
If you'd like to get some perspective on what CHI is doing, there are a couple posts on this page from CHI fans on their team's direction.

He won't come that cheap, though.

Great for Minny, but there is no reason for Chicago to do this. Bigs are very valuable in the NBA.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

Re: Joakim Noah to Minnesota
To be honest, I've been trying to think which teams would be lining up to add the guy to their team.
I see Carney valued like a late first prospect now, but with a contract that isn't guaranteed past this year, and the addition of another 1st round pick. Maybe that is too cheap, but some teams may be turned off kast year when his teammates voting him suspended a game, and this season I've heard nothing but negative things about Noah. Though I have to admit, that still doesn't curb my enthusiasm for bringing him here, to a team that considers starting Mark Madsen.

Watching the Phx-Chi game and Noah is all hustle. He gets alot of garbage points and boards, not that any of this is new, but if we can buy low on this guy we need to do it asap. I dont know why Del Negro has him in the doghouse, or if thats even the case, maybe he just hasnt performed like they expected, but i hope we can make a move for him.

This is by far the best he's played this season. All the other games he has sucked. I don't think it would be bad to get him if the cost was reasonable, but no way should he start ahead of Love.
He's also no offensive threat at all. Teams will double Jefferson relentlessly off him.

I wanted him on the Wolves from day one. Not that he's superman on the court but I like his attitude and think his personality would help to improve the Wolves chemistry. We don't have much fire (except for maybe Shad.)
Trade Miller, etc. for Noah. Then trade Al Jefferson to Atlanta for Al Horford. Resign Chris Richard and presto! We'd have the Minneapolis Gators!

The Bulls are stable at the perimeter and I dont see why they trade their best center for Carney. Its redundant for them to trade for CArney, isn't it?
Gooden is more of a PF and Gray is still raw.
What again did you give out to Philly to have Carney?

I also think its an easy pass for Chicago. No way they do it.

Cap space to sign Brand and to resign Iggy. What again did the Clippers have to give up for Camby?
I don't think the Bulls do any of the trades that have been thrown out in this thread but knocking the value of Carney because he was traded to make room for a star is a stupid. Think about all the picks the Suns have sold or traded for cheap.. Is their value less because of what it took to acquire them? No.

go to the link listed above and read the Bulls posts. the consensus seems to indicate otherwise.

Hoops needs to do that to justify how great Mark Blount is.
