You’ve single-handedly mortgaged our future, for a possible eighth seed in the Western Conference.
Well done.

rofl. I'd LOVE to see how you reason that. Put some reasoning behind your posts, because I don't see how anyone can say no to a staring 5 of Kaman\Al\Wallace\Miller\Foye.

Risking cap space in 10-11 won't matter because it won't bring a superstar.

Wallace > whatever the 15th pick would bring(and he's only 27)
Kaman > than the pick we get this year

All players perfectly compliment each other.
Al beastly low post scorer and rebounder
Miller spreads floor
Wallace slasher, and defensive so we have someone who can take it to the rack
Kaman 10 10 guy with shot blocking
Kaman > the chance we pay out a lotto pick(assuming this deal was made)
1 late 1st(bos) = the price it would take to ship cardinal
Utah 1st probably makes up for some of the value we pick up from getting wallace since we only give the MIA pick(they will probably make playoffs) and shorter contracts to NYK

Rashad McCants,
Jason Collins,
Rodney Carney,
Cardinal,
UTAH #1,
MIA #1,
BOS #1,
adjusted pick protections
cap space

Cardinal + Bos = collins (since it would cost cardinal pick to ship him)

Rashad McCants,
Rodney Carney,
UTAH #1,
MIA #1,
adjusted pick protections
cap space

capspace + carney + mccants = Wallace (roughly the best scenario we could hope for in 2010 FA)

UTAH #1,
MIA #1,
adjusted pick protections

MIA(15+ pick) + Utah pick(22+) + MN pick adjustment < kaman

Salary in 2010 will be 48m assuming MN ships Gomes + smith. They have love, brewer, kaman, wallace, Al, Foye, Bassy under contract with ~10m for free agency.

2010...
Kaman\Love
Al\Love
Wallace\
Brewer
Foye\Bassy
+10m in capspace, a few 2nds, 1st
Enough moveable(kaman\al\love\wallace\miller) pieces to free up capspace\aquire different players if things don't gel

Sorry adjusted it. NJ's 5th big man goes to the Clippers, he replaces Kamans shotblocking + defense, and will be a good temp fit next to Camby.

I think MN should ship rights to Perkovic to clips too, but left that part out.

That’s a nice collection of average – above average NBA players, but in this league you need SUPERSTARS to win championships.

When you trade every draft pick we own (and then some) you better come away with more than Kaman and Wallace. This mortgaging the future has McHale all over it.

Also Randy Foye… your starting point guard?!!!!
Enough said.

Yeah, McHale adding four protected 1st round picks, replacing our old roster with almost everyone under 25, and chopping a bazillion dollars off our books in the last year is such a "mortgaging of the future"

Kind of lost a little credibility

You have the basketball mind of a 4th grade girls basketball coach.

Superstars win championships?
I'd like you to tell that to KG for all the years he was here. The whole "superstars" win championships is far from true. It's the proper building of a franchise that has maintained a steady hold on a winning team.

Kaman and Wallace are better than anyone we ever surrounded KG with.

yawn. I have far more faith in Foye than most people, he certainly has more basketball talent than you have intellect?

and 1.

I'd do that deal instantly but I doubt it will happen.

McCants plus picks won't net us Crash and the Caveman especially with McCant's trade value being so low and him being in a contract year which might be a one year rental. I don't know if he would be able to handle playing under Larry Brown

edit: I just saw that you changed the restrictions of our pick owed to the Clips. I think that makes it rather likely though. then again, with proper coaching (HA!) the team we'd have after this deal should at least be a playoff-contender which would make up for the loss of the restrictions.

I wouldn't do the deal ,it is very likely that our pick on its own is going to be >Kaman without throwing away a whole handfull of other 1st rounders on him as well.

Add in one concussion for Wallace and you have doomed the franchise for many more years.

Even with perfect health for Wallace it doesn't in my eyes make us contenders and so the risk is a lot higher than the reward for me
