Is there anything about this team to be excited about? I am struggling to come up with some. Give me some help. If you can, rank your top five things to be excited about this team.

I can only think of 3 things right now

1. Wittman getting fired, this dude has absolutely no idea what he is coaching
2. Draft 2009
3. Our future...if we come out of the draft with a defensive-minded Center and Ricky Rubio (I'm pretty high on him^^ the question is: when will he dominate at pg in the nba, not will he ;) ) or another potential superstar...then we'll have at least a solid starting 5 and cap room to lock our players and get some additional talent or proven players in.

I'm begging McHale won't betray us again...I have to admit he did a good job of bringing in all these 1st round picks but now he needs to make the next step and get the right player in draft...I'm still down we traded Mayo -.-

Rubio
Mayo
Brewer
Jefferson
Thabeet (only an example at C)

I believe this team could be better than Portland will be!
Well but there is also some positive things about McHales trade for Miller & Love...we will have a beasty frontcourt with Love, AL J and a defensive-minded C. (But I can imagine we need to trade Love or Big Al (depending of who we think will be better) at a time because neither will want to be coming of the bench for long....)
And also Miller will hopefully teach Brewer how to SHOT :)

I'm disappointed by Brewer but I still hope he can develop into a Bruce Bowen-type of player :)

1.) problems are fixable.

2.) Good collection of young talent with good attitudes

3.) tons of picks coming up

4.) unique talent in al Jefferson on a long contract

5.) Wittman cannot last much longer.

Yes, once we see that Kevin Love outlet pass I've been hearing sooo much about, we'll be very excited.

Great post. That's how I feel too. We have opportunity now. It may or may not succeed, but I have a feeling of hopefulness that didn't exist in KG's last couple years.

I just hope these problems are fixed by someone else other than Kevin McHale.

He threw one the other day, but it was to Corey Brewer.

We all know how that ended.

I seriously think too many of you have too high of expectations coming into this season. I understand nobody saw 1-8 happening but to think there is absolutely nothing to be excited about is steep.

^ I think it was only because McHale made us believe we could have a chance to win ~30-35 games. too bad he doesn't seem to be that competetive to see that we won't make it that far if we keep Wittman around.

*what I'm excited about? umm... umm... ummm... geez... so hard... draft 2009 maybe? with the only condition we finally keep the player we drafted and don't get hosed. what else am I excited about? umm... *cirp* *cirp*... umm... an alternate uniform in 2010? what else? no way I waste my evening thinking about something which won't happen anyway...

*forget it if McHale finally decides to retire and/or (preferably the former) to fire the owl

I agree, too. My hopefulness has been tempered a bit by seeing how epically bad Wittman is at coaching but I do feel like this team actually HAS a future, unlike the last several years of the KG era.
