McCants about to be dealt to Charlotte?

Post#1 » by DG4L » Sun Nov 30, 2008 9:37 pm

Great news if true!

Timberwolves
-McCants-Former UNC star, fan favorite in North Carolina
-Collins-Expiring Contract 6.2 mil
-Booth-Expiring Contract 1.1 mil
-Brewer-Bobcats need Defense and Brewer still has plenty of potential
-2009 1st round pick-T'Wolves have plenty to give up
WallaceBobcats Trade
-Gerald Wallace-Has been on the block for a while. Would be a great compliment to Big Al at the SF position. Great all around player that is much more talented and polished than Brewer.
-Raymond Felton- Has not lived up to all the hype in Charlotte and they drafted another PG this year in Augustin.
-Adam Morrison- McHale was very high on this guy.
Most Likely Outcome
T'Wolves trade McCants, Collins, 1st round pick
Bobcats trade Wallace

Our luck it will be McCants and Booth for Morrison.

Although I'd love Wallace and Felton.

I'm for any trade that includes Wallace being send to Minnesota which leaves us still with our own and the Miami first round pick.
Wallace for Collins, McCants, 2009 first of Utah/Celtics would be great.
We would get a nice player in Wallace and could trade away McCants who does not seem to get minutes anyway ^^

Foye/Telfair
Miller/Brewer
Wallace/Gomes/Carney
Love/Smith
Jefferson/Mad Dog (i'm not serious ^^)

Would look really nice in my oppinion ;)

Lets hope the trade includes Wallace and not our own draft pick and neither Miamis

I'm on board with this.
My first thought was that this screws our 2010 cap space but who are we kidding to think we'd
get a guy better than Crash either this off season or the next in free agency. As for Ammo, do we really need another tall, slow, mop topped, white guy that can't play defense? Probably not, but it's not a bad risk for us. This would mean Gomes has to be traded at some point.

Foy-Felton
Miller
Crash-Ammo
Love
Jefferson

looks like a lineup destined for mediocrity to me. 'I'm not ready to give up on brew, however i don't mind this:
"Most Likely Outcome
T'Wolves trade McCants, Collins, 1st round pick
Bobcats trade Wallace"

Yeah giving up Brewer would be tough. That most likely outcome seems like a best case scenario.
I posted the link on the Bobcats board to see what they think.. http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=849755&start=165

Felton would give us a better true PG. Foye could move to the two, start, or come off the bench. Gerald Wallace would give us instant athleticism. We would still be lacking a C though. Not sure what AMMO will bring.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

That would be f***ing awesome. How reliable is this site though?

The only thing that would worry me is trading our only center but im sure i'll get over it with Wallace on board

Im not really big on Felton, trading for Crash doesnt mean we are giving up on Brewer (unless we give up Brewer) and i think this would be a really good idea, especially if its McCants/Collins/UTH-Bos 1st.

Completely agree. I do think that there is quite a bit of merit to this rumor, and it has a great chance of happening. I think that it will end up being a 3-4 team OR a progressive set of trades that happen that make us move both Telfair and Gomes. This is of course if Brewer is not part of the Deal (man...i hope we keep that kid).

Foye/Felton
Miller/Foye/Brewer
Wallace/Brewer/Miller
Love/Smith/Jefferson
Jefferson/MadDog!

It doesn't scream Playoffs, but it doesn't hurt to think that its a possibility. Gotta believe that this will hurt our salary cap in '10 and also our draft position in next years draft (which we might not even get).

That kind of gave me chills. Wallace clearly will have to pick a different number.

Change it back. Seeing a number seven wolves jersey again gave me chills in my knees.

Couldn't Telfair switch to 31 or can you only change numbers in the offseason? I think that was his number while with the Blazers and in high school.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
