we have been talking about abandoning our 2010 hope with getting wallace, but how about going after Dalembert? He would give us a perfect center to rotate with love and jefferson.

Collins/McCants/Smith (maybe boston pick as well) for Dalembert

This allows Philly to start Speights and Smith/Collins would be a good backups. McCants can provide the outside shooting that philly needs. They also clear some serious cap space as well.

It might be handy to pick up another shooter. we could also bring back richard for depth.

That starting lineup is much more athletic with dalembert,miller,carney vs collins,gomes,miller We have well defined roles and Carney gets a chance to show us what he can do. Whether Philly would do it or not is another question.

For that package I'd absolutely do this trade. Then follow it up with a Miller/Iguodala trade of some sort? A man can dream...

Dalembert has been a disappointment this season ..

.. with his PPG dropping from 10.6 the last couple years to 6.5, and the career 52.5% FG% is only 45% this season. Worse, he looks a little lost on defense. Its tough to decide what's going on with the guy, because this was his modus operandi for his first four years in the league. The last two, he seemed to start to get it (he doesn't have a good BBIQ) and take advantage of his size. PHI fans believe he simply doesn't mesh with Brand, so there are hints that the sixers may be shopping him behind the scenes.

With that said, I'd still gamble on him at this price. His contract is large ($12 mil a year), but only three years. That third year may scare off competition from the 20-or-so teams that want to compete for free agents in 2010. The price isn't too bad for a position we have such desperate need.

I should also add that PHI was dead last in 3-point percentage last season, and by adding Elton Brand, their need only increased.

McCants, Miller, and the home-town Foye should each carry extra trade value in trade to Philly.

Dally is tough. He would fill a need, but he is no where near worth the money. The idea with Wallace was that he would be a 35+min starter and a major piece. Dally would be the 3rd wheel with love and Al. That is a tough sell.
