Yeah we beat ourselves tonight with late turnovers and poor shot selection. Foye was sick though. We played so much better with him running the point than with him playing the off guard. Bassy and Ollie aren't starters and they should not be doing so IMO.

Start Jefferson-Love-Carney-Foye-Bassy. That lineup is so much better than what we currently put out there. Love>>>Smith and Carney>Gomes.

Whether this is true or not i dont know, and while it is relevant to the game and the outcome, thats not really why we are upset, just the lack of respect. Im not really surprised we didnt get that call, but it'll come with time.

This team has become so much more fun to watch under Mchale. The players are buying in and playing with the kind of spark I have been hoping for since KG left.

I heart teh wolves :D

As opposed to Foye's "foul" on Wade in the first half on the three point attempt...that was bull.

Yeah, there were a couple bad calls in the first half and a couple "makeup" calls in the second half. TWolves will get more calls when they A. start winning more regularly and B. play aggressively.

I totally agree. I can't remember the last time I used the words "ball movement" and "Timberwolves" in the same sentence but they sure showed some tonight.

I used those words in the same sentence but it's generally been accompanied by such words as "no" or "pathetic." Now those words are becoming more and more infrequent.

OK, I'm going to do something I don't normally do .. second guess the coach.

With only one time-out and down by 1, is it really a good idea to use the last time-out to move the ball up the court with 22 seconds left? I'm no in-game coaching expert, but I would have thought the time-out was incredibly valuable insurance in case we didn't score. Its use also had a major effect. We had to keep Mike Miller in underneath to rebound instead of Love because we needed to have a shooter on the floor. With a time-out, we could have had Love to get the rebound, called a time-out, and put Miller back on offense. Sure Miller is as tall as Beasley, but I doubt he could have gotten an offensive board over Kevin Love.

Is it modus operandi to use a final time out in that situation to advance the ball?

I don't want my last post to sound like I didn't appreciate what I saw of the team ( just the last half of the fourth quarter). The wolves lost, but they looked impressive. Its fun to get rapped up in the wins, but truly what we should value is player growth. Foye just keeps looking more and more like a budding star.

maybe McHale had enough confidence in our guys and let them know it?

Nope. He's gotten better and better. If you saw his 4th quarter performance in the LA the other night and realize he just turned 20, it's easy to see that he's got superstar potential. He's getting more minutes, averaging 17 and 7 over his past 5 games (in only 26 mpg) and his per-36 numbers are at the top of the rookie class.

Coach Spo has just been making him earn minutes and developing him the right way. He'd be averaging 20-10 and making the Bulls think a little bit (only a little, I still love Rose) on many of the NBA's bottom-feeder teams right now. Make no mistake. Miami is well-pleased.

Supernintendo Chalmers (my avatar) is the one who's hitting the wall right now, but he's still been one of the top rookies this season and can be *at least* a Derek Fisher type for the Heat for years to come.

All the best to Minny. You guys have a nice team that seems to be coming around. I knew tonight would be a tough game for MIA.

Are there any breakout players this year? I know there are guys that have improved their scoring significantly like Jeff Green and Danny Granger...but I can't really think of any breakout guys. If Foye and Carney play like they have been lately one of them might get consideration unless I'm forgetting someone obvious...Andrea Bargnani if he keeps up what he has been doing since JO got hurt.

Devin Harris. Unless he has a serious injury, he will win MIP. Granger and Foye should be right behind him though. If Foye keeps this up that is.

I only saw the second half of the game. 6-0 would have been so sweet. Love, Telfair and Jefferson killed us tonight with those late turnovers. Let's hope this won't affect our morale too much.

Vintage Wolves will prolly go onto lose 4 or 5 in a row now. Hopefully we can win some.

The trade ended up being Cardinal and Love for Mayo

it wouldn't surprise me with our schedule coming up...though we should be able to pull out a win on the Clippers.

I think we can still pull one out against the Hornets or Jazz. We played the Jazz hella close in Mac's first game and NO has been struggling most of the season. They arent untouchable.

3 reasons we did not win.

1.) Al and Miller struggled bad. That was obvious.

2.) Waaaay too many turnovers in the first half

3.) D-whistle gets too many reputation calls, but the player he faces will get nothing. In a close game that hurts.
