Drury, Gomez agree to deals with Rangers

The New York Rangers look to be making the biggest splash to start the NHL's free-agent signing period.
ESPN The Magazine's E.J. Hradek reports that New York has agreed to deals with both Sabres Chris Drury and Devils center Scott Gomez.
Both were a couple of the most sought-after players on the market.
Gomez, who has played his entire seven-year NHL career with New Jersey, signed a signed a seven-year deal. Financial terms are not yet known.
No terms were available for the Drury deal.
Gomez, who won two Stanley Cups with the Devils, has scored 116 goals in his stellar career and assisted on 334 more.
Drury, a seven-year veteran and Sabres co-captain, started his career with Colorado before spending one season in Calgary. He has been with the Sabres for the past three seasons. He scored a career-high 37 goals last year and added 32 assists.
