Spezza and Team Canada

Post#1 » by SenatorsFan11 » Tue Nov 10, 2009 1:03 am

I believe that if Spezza can continue his strong 2-way play, he can make team Canada. For people who havn't watched him they may say he has struggled due to the fact that he's had very low goal production this year but for people who have watched him so far this season will realize that he's been making his teammates better and has been used in all situation (pk,pp etc) and has improved his defensive game by light years to what it was last year. ( I think it may be due to the fact that Clouston seems to be giving him more of a chance to prove that hes not a 1-Dimensional Player)

Unfortunatly, team Canada is very strong down the middle with Crosby, Getzlaf, Thorton , and Richards but I believe he can squeeze into one of those slots.

What do you guys think of Spezza's play so far this season and do you think there's a chance he can make team Canada? Possibly the taxi squad?

He has a real shot no doubt.

Absolutely he has a shot. But he won't make it.

I don't know, I feel like he's a notch below the players in contention.

His defense has definitely been strong, but his low goal production could hurt him. He has an outside shot, though.

I agree though, Clouston really has jump started his career

This is the reason I believe Spezza won't make Team Canada. There's just too much competition.

I think he can at least make it over Thorton.
I'm sorry I haven't been funny. I am not a comedian. I am Lenny Bruce.

I don't think it matters with Crosby though.

It's Thornton.

He played for the bruins for many years before I could spell his name right though.

I never liked Spezza. I think he's overrated.
