Lol yea the closest thing to the Gerald Wallace trade in the last 5 years is the Bargs trade. It's like dumb and dumber over here in New York. But if it cost us a 2nd round pick to move a vet min player in Teague it was going to cost us more to move a player making the mmle like it did the Knicks. It is frustrating that we couldn't just buy him out, but looks like Prok is trying to save money.

If King would've spent money more wisely, we wouldn't be worrying about saving right now.

I know Proky was wondering why he was spending so much money on the garbage he got in return.

Ah yes, I agree. Nothing would make me happier as a Nets fan than to see King canned.

Yup all done. Seriously think I'm going to start following another franchise. Can't take this torture anymore.

He'd rather spend give up more money, swap and trade more picks to send a vet.min. player away?

I think this all must be some sick game and he's secretly employed by the Knicks or something.

Hes the making the mmle. Saves the Nets $11 million with tax. Prok has really seemed to tighten the strings on the heels of that $140 million loss

Edit: and this is basically the same package the Knicks traded for the 6ers to eat Outlaw who was on the same contract

Ah yes, because the Knicks are an excellent model for success lol.

The Knicks are in a better position than the **** ing Nets right now

If we truly are in cost cutting mode, sorry in advance for derailing, we should look at moving Mirza at the deadline if we are unsuccessful in moving our big 3 and depending on record and such. I get he's a valuable piece, but what's his future? And he's one of the only ones on this roster with positive value - giving us the chance to recoup an asset.

With KG expiring, AK gone and Mirza's salary off our books we're going to be at $75 million. With our 1st round pick that's diminished, plus the mmle if we choose to use that and we're right up against the tax. This means we may no't have the money to resign Mirza if we're looking to avoid the repeater tax - which seems like something this franchise is trying to do.

A couple of trade ideas:
Mirza to SA for Ayers and Anderson; for Patty Mills straight up; or Ayers, Daye + a 1st. Hoping Pop really loves him and is influenced by him torching them on multiple occasions.

Mirza to Houston for the Lin TPE + NO 1st; or Mirza, Plumlee, Jefferson for D-Mo and Papankolau; or any way to get Jones

Also, KG deserves better. If we're a mess at the deadline move him for Perkins + Perry Jones or Jeremy Lamb or something similar.

They need to trade KG to a contender. This is nonsense.

@SamSmithHoops: Nets 2nd half: 29 pts, 26.2% shooting; Gibson with more rebs than entire Nets starting 5;

Ugly, ugly, ugly stuff

Same old tune with the Nets. Fight for (most) of a half, come out flat in third, and give up by fourth. God forbid we actually TRY and put an opponent away.

King needs to go, and then start blowing it up.

didnt watch the game, but did people expect us to beat the bulls without joe or mirza? they crushed us twice prior at full strength and play hard.

if you expect this team to win against .500 opponents you are just delusional going in.

Father Time is undefeated, but he's been playing ass off. You see this man come to the bench dripping in sweat, see him get visibly upset every time some scores, you see someone who cares about this team more than maybe anyone on this damn roster. We have different opinions on KG, but it's sad to see one of the best PFs of All Time go down like this, one of the most passionate players to ever play the game end his career with this team of losers.

You actually thought we can put the Bulls away without Joe, Brook and Mirza?
