good points about offensive flow.... I guess I was thinking more of taking away from Brook inside but other than that... idk... I don't want Mirza to be another chucker....

AS long as Jack handles the ball, no one will take away from his chucking... cuz he won't pass lol

I know this is the last year of Prok's promise to bring a championship. But imagine if it happens O_O

Hawks in 4 or 5:Â 787
Hawks in 6 or 7:Â 222
Nets in 4 or 5: 38
Nets in 6 or 7:Â 76,000
 Seriously?
this is shocking to me
What's your prediction?Spoiler:
Anything that has the Nets being competitive in a game in Atlanta; fighting tooth and nail at home, winning one of them will be a positive series. Looking back at the end of the season, the Nets looked so disjointed and were so easily exposed by inferior teams to the hawks, that it's really hard to see much positivity when the other team will probably be getting every shot they want while on the other hand forcing long jumpers from the Nets. Deron and JJ will need to break out of their ridiculous slump(last 7 pivotal games, 28% and 32% 3p%).
hawks in 4-6 games. gun to my head i'd probably say 5 with the nets squandering a late game they could have won to push it to 6.
To me the season is already a success. everything i wanted/expected happened:
1) make the playoffs so we dont give a lotto pick, keep the playoff streak active, get youngins playoff experience
2) while we made the playoffs didnt expect to contend
3) have hollins make stars accountable, tough love, make or break lopez (which worked in a positive way)
4) shed light on this core not working, so we can move on from them and not keep trying with a flawed core
a playoff series win/competitive series is icing on the cake. it was ugly, but it was what i expected and we accomplished the only 1 or 2 goals i had(playoffs, dont give up the lotto pick, tough love)

Quiet-Dude wrote:i think the problem this year with JJ post up has been lack of space, last year Nets had kg at the 5, now you have brook near the baseline, neither plumlee or young bring the space that pierce/mirza did, so you find joe shooting hooks and floaters over 4 hands.
there has been no problem with joe post ups. they have been as effective/more effective then last year. the issue is his ability to finish. he has consistently gotten clean looks at 2-6 feet and not converted at a high rate. he has been excellent passing out of them and its create a ton of offense. the second issue with it is we dont have anyone who could knock down an open 3 out of it either
we need to hope joe hits those short shots and guys make open 3s

I noticed this also and was disappointed, I liked the afro. Mirza coming back could be a huge emotional boost and also could help us get our 3 point percentage up. Not really sure if he's ready for game speed, but with a few backup minutes in a later game in the series, it couldn't hurt.
If we were to win this series, I'm pretty sure it'd be our best chance at getting to the ECF, I think we could definitely beat Was/Tor. Not trying to be eager, but wondering if our guys are motivated at making a run for a ring.

The hate for the Nets in the general board is hilarious. It's like the Nets stole something by making the playoffs and people are genuinely upset at such travesty haha.

I wish we were actually a good team, because I would enjoy the hatred.

But if the Pacers made it, few would say anything.

He might make an appareance in game 3... Would be huge emotional boost if he can take the floor for atleast 10 min, backing up Thad, hitting some threes and spacing the floor. He is a HUGE upgrade over Earl Clark.
Very happy to hear that Mirza is back.
Although I don't think there's any such thing as an emotional boost for this team.
Dunks at crucial times during a game can deflate your opponent, charge up the crowd, and fire your team up. I can't think of a time where something big like that has happened and it completely changed the way we played and began to dominate.
We've been in close games before and won on some clutch shots but we've never had an extra gear to reach and nothing that should've been an emotional boost has served as a distinctly positive and inspirational moment for our team.
I don't think simply having Mirza on the bench will inspire us or give us a boost. The only boost we'll get is if Mirza can actually do anything good on the floor. Don't expect D-Will and JJ to start balling out just because Mirza is here.
