ill take anything. honestly what you are offering is actually a massive overpay that any net fan on this board would take in a split second. you would need to pick up the option on booker, and then find another 1.2M to add in. a couple miimum deals would work.

Why do you want him back on the Jazz? I mean your team is rebuiling right? I love adding vets to rebuilding teams, i think its 100% necessary and buy into more of the way thepelicans are doing it, but deron isnt that vet you want. you dot want to surround young guys with a low effort guy who admittedly isnt a leader and lacks accountability

Our fanbase is split on Deron.
Some still love him some hate his guts.

Exum is just not ready to take the starting role yet. Way to raw.
Jazz are ready for a playoff push next year. We need a competent PG.

I believe Deron just cant handle the big city lights/media. His poor play seems to be more mental than physical. Going back to Utah can potentially rejuvenate his career. We can take his 2 yr massive salary without affecting contracts for our upcoming youth. Exum can develop until Derons contract expires.

Gobert is untouchable.
We can pick up Bookers contract and throw in some fillers as the other poster suggested.

We have Hood who is turning out quite nicely so Burks is expendable. We dont need/want Trey Burke.

I don't think you would find ANY Nets fan who would argue to keep Deron Williams if a trade like that arose.

As long as we shed salary, received a mid tier PG in return, and then to add a prospect or something of the sort, we would pay for his plane ticket.

Deron would probably do well back in Utah too. I could see it happening and people receiving him very well, and actually see his level of play elevate... not to what it used to be, but more consistent like. I'm on board, get your GM to call our idiot GM. :)

This is pretty much the way I see it. He might want to play hard again for a team thats up and coming. He's familiar to Salt Lake.
I think he will buy in to Quin Snyder's offense.
Its a big if but Im willing to take that risk.

Wait...you guys really want this guy back?

I'd take anything that you're offering as long as it expires at the end of the 15-2016 season.

i'd scream to the heavens if we made a deal like that

Believe it or not the Jazz are in the perfect situation to take him back.
We're not capped out with big contracts because our players are so young. (Rookie contracts/1st extension contracts)
2 yrs is easily palatable.

-Team is ready to push for playoffs next yr.
-Exum is 19 and needs more time

Gobert is untouchable but not Exum you say? Favors?

either way, like all NETs fans are saying, we'll take almost anything as long as it doesn't eat into the 2016 summer space

I figured Exum/Hayward/Gobert/Favors is an obvious untouchable for this trade scenario involving Deron.
It has to be based around Burke/Burks/Booker/Filler for this to work.

Jazz need to add a vet PG while retaining the core that helped turn this team around after the break.

The only downside I see to this is I really like Booker as the energy/hustle guy coming off the bench.
He seems to really like the group of guys we have as well.

And that offer may very well be enough to pull the trigger... that says a lot about our mindset in terms of keeping/moving Dwill.

Throw in a first would be great but again, that offer alone, while not sexy is already convincing enough to us fans of BKN

I think just the title of this thread is enough to convince Nets fans. Utah won't give a first rounder to take on Deron's contract.

I was STRONGLY disagree that it is more mental then physical. there are mental aspects, his condifence is a big issue, but the lack of confidence comes from not physically being able to do things anymore.

He is older and i wont say broken down bust surely lost alot. He used to be able to get to the rim on anyone. now he rarely is able to beat his man and get in the lane. he has no lift on his jumper. he CANT finsish. his finishing ability has gotten so poor he often wont even look to shoot when he is in the lane.

the guy isnt beat down by the media either, they have made excuse after excuse for him and the knicks/jets/giants/yankees/mets/rangers/islanders all take the spotlight off. i dont think the media/spotlight here even has 1% to do with it to be honest.

there isnt a net fan here that would not instantly trade him for expirings

I can't believe there's a single Jazz fan who thinks it's a good idea to take back Deron Williams and his contract.

The Nets have to pay some team to take him. So Utah would be the ones receiving picks, not the other way around.
