Showboat and Casino: Official Ryan Boatright Thread

Post#1 » by Net Sentence » Mon Jul 6, 2015 12:31 am

Image

Im posting this because I feel pretty certain that he is making the team.

Image

I dont care if it is only summer league. Boatright will make the Nets. I always liked Boatright at UCONN and it's hard not to root for him. He plays like he is the biggest player on the floor despite being only 5'10". Despite his success at UCONN, I keep telling myself that he is too small to be an NBA player. He is tearing it up in summer league and I keep telling myself he is too small to be an NBA player. Well Im going to stop doubting this kid. I think he is going to make the team. Everything he does defies logic.

What's his height? He looks 5'10 but NBA TV lists him as 6'0.

He's not 6'. It doesnt matter though. Nets are going to need his outside shooting.

Rooting for it. And he's going to go hard as he possibly can. He's going to make it.

Nasty as hell. There's no way in hell you let another team get their hands on him.

I don't care how or where talent comes from. That guy looks like he can play. I hope he gets a legit shot in camp against nba 2nd unit guys.

That 3 point shot is what gets him playing time this year. We need the shooting. He is money once he squares his shoulders

do you put him at PG and move dwill to SG at times? i think he makes the team but im not sure where his playing time comes from. I dont think he bumps jack from the rotation and bogs/markel will be looking for minutes at SG. also need to factor in shane larkin.

I see him playing the tyshon taylor role, and needing an injury to crack the rotation. but i like the kid, hopefully he sticks around

If he can catch and shoot like that in games he'll play. We need shooters badly.

I don't think King signed him to a contract just for the heck of it.

I'm pretty sure King is going to try his best to move Jack with the hopes that the combined efforts of Boatright and Larkin will makeup for any of the positives Jack brought to the table.

I only see Boatright getting cut if King believes he can't trade Jack and he really needs to cut someone. I highly doubt Boatright will be let go though.

who do you sit? Bogs? RHJ? Joe? Jack?

i see him having trouble cracking the rotation sans injury. especially with so many options at PG

Special like nate robinson? special like steph curry?

I think people need to pump the brakes and take a look at past UDFAs who looked good in summer league.

How about better than freaken Morris.

I like Boatright. He seems very confident with his jumper. Like Dolla said, we need shooters.

Another thing with Boatright, he seems like he likes to play defense. That is another thing we really need. A BACK UP PG that is quick and WANTS to defend his position.

Damn..The lil man is only 5'10 w/o shoes and 6'1 wingspan....

It's going to be TOUGH for himn in the NBA cause when you are small like him you HAVE to have length (pause)....

But i liked what i saw yesterday...Still waiting for Brown to show improvement.
