Special like nate robinson? special like steph curry?

I think people need to pump the brakes and take a look at past UDFAs who looked good in summer league.

How about better than freaken Morris.

I like Boatright. He seems very confident with his jumper. Like Dolla said, we need shooters.

Another thing with Boatright, he seems like he likes to play defense. That is another thing we really need. A BACK UP PG that is quick and WANTS to defend his position.

is being better then a benchwarmer who didnt play and is in and out of the dleague really a player you would call "special"

I am not the one that called him special. I am saying Boatright IMO will be Nets third string PG like Morris was last year. The only difference is Boatright will get more PT because not only does he play defense he is also a better shooter which this team lacks.

When Boatright goes for a 3pt shot I wont cringe like I would do with Jack and Morris.

yeah i agree with you. like i said if he can become our version of phil pressey or even a rich mans pressey id be pretty happy about that and i think he certainly can be that guy for us.

i took exception with people calling him a special player or someone whois goign to come in here and change the dynamic at PG

I agree.

I think that MAY come from the fact that so many Nets fans want DWill gone so bad that they are just a little bit overrating him.

I understand why people want to get rid of DWill and his contract, but unless we Nets get a starting PG back, I dont want to watch Jack starting on this team. yeah DWill's contract hurts us in 2016, but I cant stand Jack as a PG. Jack as a backup SG like Thornton where he comes into a game and scores 10 pts in 10 mins I am fine with.

I think Larkin and Boatright are very good change of pace types for DWill. Both seem very capable PnR PGs. Boatright seems to be a better shooter and Larkin can really get to the basket. I think both can be ball hawks.

perhaps rich mans, because PP hasn't made 5 threes in a game his entire career (same for tyshawn taylor). i'm talking back to freaking hs. Boatrights floor game is much more effective; his first step is equal and he is a gazillion times the shooter (pullups, catch n shoot, free throws, the gambit). Pressey struggled to score at the college level, and still cant. (maybe you were talking about his role as 3rd pg on the nets, if so youre probably right as i'm not aware of the roster construction really. he can compete with guys like jack or larkin, and even take minutes)

The one thing boatright is not good at is being a consummate pg, he will press his games at times. very very similar to thomas on boston. They both get off the floor ridiculously high on jumpers and have slick handles exploding off picknrolls.

Damn..The lil man is only 5'10 w/o shoes and 6'1 wingspan....

It's going to be TOUGH for himn in the NBA cause when you are small like him you HAVE to have length (pause)....

But i liked what i saw yesterday...Still waiting for Brown to show improvement.

I don't really see his height as an issue since he's going to face most backups in the league. He needs to add more muscle and get stronger to finish inside against bigs.

Im not considered with his height so much his wingspan...all the smaller guards in the league have big wingspans...

His length may be an issue if he attempts to finish inside.

He can definitely space the floor though.

agree. size isnt a concern for me with boatright. if he cracks the rotation its to come in and be a shotmaker. if he can get his shot off that is all that matters. and with the NBA trending smaller, especially on reserve units i dont have many doubts he will be able to do it.

if he is a liability on D a bit or guys abuse him down low i can live with that if he is making shots. thats his value

Honestly, if he makes the team I can see him as a spark plug off of the bench. That jumpshot is no fluke.

He can be better than Phil pressed. I see him more like Isaiah Thomas and he is 5"9 with shoes and 6"1 wingspan. The question really is if he can get the opportunity to get minutes

Once DWill gets cut, Boatright will have a spot on the roster. We need that 3pt of his.

I really think we found a diamond in the rough with Boatright. I think he's going to be special in a couple years. I don't want to hear anyone compare him to T. Taylor or M. Teague b/c this guy shows way more BBIQ and ability than those guys.

I have a few friends who are UConn alum and follow their program religiously... I want to see who they think he compares with the most out of recent guards who've come out of there.

I can't think of anyone who has a quicker first step than Boatright. He can get by anyone.

Uconn fan here. I watched probably close to 90% of Boatright games the past 4 years. He deff has a little Kemba Walker in him. Dont think he will be the scorer Kemba is but he makes up for that with his court vision and athleticism.

I'm hoping we develop him over the next year or two and bring him in after we move on from Jarret Jack.

You're a CT guy and a Hornets fan, how did that happen? Interesting not a Celtics/Knicks/Nets guy...I'm down in Milford and been a Nets fan forever
