Exactly. Russell/LeVert would be a terrific start to a rebuild. No GM is saying no to that deal. Let alone one in our position.

Being a Lakers fan since 1985, I'm a huge fan of Magic but I've gotta say that I'm not that confident in his basketball executive abilities. I feel like he's "old school" and not a subscriber of the new ways of thinking, along the lines of PJax.

This being said, the Lakers are not competing for a playoff spot so not sure why they'd want to add a veteran like Lopez. The Lakers' 2017 draft pick is top 3 protected, and then unprotected in 2018 (PHI). So it's in the Lakers' interest to tank during this talented draft year.

The Lakers are on track to get the #3 draft pick, while still having Randle, Ingram, Russell, Clarkson, Nance, and Zubac. Lopez makes no sense.

No way. Russell is the most overrated young player in the league

A 20yo PG, 6'5 w/6'10wings, avging 14ppg, 5apg, 4rpg, 1spg shooting 35% 3pt is overrated?

I think you and I have different definitions of overrated

He doesn't know how to play defense. Those stats for a player who has the ball all the time and has the blue light to shoot is not impressive at all.

That's our TEAM right there!!!!

that would fit Kenny's system perfectly, two guards with size, handling and length in the backcourt.

won't happen, but it would be nice. i wouldn't trade Russell for Lopez.

Hell, if I'm another GM i would probably be more interested in Trevor Booker than Lopez tbh especially if i needed help at the 4.

Magic isn't going to trade for a center that averages 5 rebs a game. This man played with Kareem Abdul Jabbar for god's sake, arguably the greatest basketball player of all time.

Ironic that you mention KAJ, because he sucked ass as a rebounder for most of Magic's career lol.

TBH, Magic does strike me as a guy that likes name value and perception...Lopez is a former All-Star still in his prime who is still considered by most to be one of the best offensive bigs in the league. I feel like Magic might be interested, especially since I don't think he's all that smart as a talent evaluator.

As for Lopez in general, I think his value for us has run its course, which is through no fault of his own to be honest. He's always been the good soldier, he's always been extremely loyal, and he's been the one constant that's been left over from the changing of the old guard (VC's last season with us) til now. I love Brook, he's been the one consistent bright spot for the last 9 years now. But we're the worst team in the league with no assets of our own for the next 2 years, and he's a 29 year old center with a history of foot problems. At this point, by the time we have any chance of being good again, Lopez's prime, and possibly career, will be over. Might as well move on and get what we can.

But I do believe that he's signed for one more year after this one, no? In which case...is there really a rush to trade him right now?

Who wants to give up significant assets for a player who could be a rental?

Kareem was 32 when Magic came into the league and was still grabbing more boards per game than Lopez has at any time in his career.

Is Bojan seriously going to bring in a 1st round pick in any draft? That would be an amazing move by Marks.

Interested to see what we can get for Bogs. Even for all his issues I really like him and wish him well. He could do much better on a team like OKC or Spurs where they can use his offense and hide his defense.

I'd want one of two trades:

Bogs for Washington 2017 1st
or
Bogs for Taurean Prince

I would like him to go to OKC to give Westbrook a fighting chance out there.....

but nothing they have outside of Oladipo n Adams I would want..... welll their first is still in the top 20 actually.... :D

Teams like 6'8 SFs who shoot 38% 3pt, who have scored 44 points in a game.

Bogs is the perfect 6th man for many playoff teams

Bogs for the Ersan trade exception + 2017 1st
or
Bogs for Morrow + 2017 1st

both work on the trade machine.

There are legit 10 teams that could use Bojan
Wiz
Hawks
Raps
Pacers
Spurs
Thunder
Rockets
Clippers
Grizz
Pelicans
and I'm sure others would like him

go figure, Bogs could potential land us more than Brook

As a bench SG/SF, yes. Defense as important for microwave offense

Wizards - Oubre n Ochelu(fill salary) plus 2017 first?

Hornets - I have no clue, wouldn't know where to start.

all for just Bogs alone.
