Nets send Joe and two 2nds to Detroit

We’re sending the 2nd rounders to Detroit along with Joe. We’re getting a TPE in return.

The update says we sent 2 seconds, which makes more sense. This seems like it's largely to get the team's finances right... Safe travels Joe...

Damn, the longest tenured Net is gone. I’ll miss Joey Buckets but we needed to shed salary. We’re definitely re-signing Cam.

I’m all for Joe’s hustle and how he scrapped his way to being an NBA rotation player, but the guy is one of the biggest playoff chokers of all time, not even exaggerating. The amount of open 3s this guy bricks come playoff time is incredible. Definitely one of the biggest dropoffs from regular season to playoffs that I can remember a player having.

So honestly? Good riddance. He was never someone you could actually count on when the chips were down, and that’s basically a useless player for a team that has any sort of playoff aspirations.

When the dust settles he was a great Net but clearly not the same player anymore and the playoff struggle can't be ignored. It was way past time.

Last of the OG’s. Wish him the best but glad I no longer have to witness the inconsistencies.

I'm glad to see him go after he choked that Milwaukee series away I was hoping to see some accountability in the press conference but he didn't seem to care. I was done with him after that.

This can still become part of a larger multi-team deal.

Marks is a magician. The 19m tpe is better than the 2nds.

And now they may get full tpmle even before they trade dfs or oneale.

And cam j is likely back now.

Not entirely positive this means we may have bigger moves in store than expected but not entirely positive it doesn’t mean that either. Nets interest in FA has been pretty quiet but this deal tells me they want to use full mle on someone (Vincent? Brown? Grant?).

Yes perfect trade for us. I'll always love Joey Buckets but he was a huge negative in the playoffs and wasn't the same after he returned from that bad injury. Now we clear cap space and avoid the tax. I'm surprised Pistons took his whole contract after the rumors of them throwing a big bag at Cam J but now I think this takes them out of the running for Cam J unless they get rid of Bogs and others. Either way win win for us. I don't see Pistons throwing 30M at Cam J now.

Let's not forget the chain of events. Marks insisted on PHX including Crowder, who he new he'd be able to flip to Milwaukee. Milwaukee gave up 5 2nds & a bunch of junk contracts. The Nets used 3 of those 2nds to dump the junk deals on Indy to generate an $18.1mil TPE. Now he used the other 2 2nds to dump Joe & generate a $19.9mil TPE. Massive savings, 2 huge TPEs, no pre-KD trade picks included.

Harris never lived up to his potential sadly.

He is one of greatest regular season shooters of all time. And collapses every playoffs.

Probably cost us a Finals in the Milwaukee series.

way premature to say they won't be used. 1 for someone like murray, if they somehow pull off the dame trade they can be used to add 2 more pieces around him, this one generated from harris will be good through next year's draft and start of FA so who knows what opens up.

Idk couple of TPE’s expired when they were desperately needed to be used. I’m no fan of Marks he’s gotten a lot of mileage out of building a 8th seed.
