Around the NHL

Post#1 » by Ado05 » Thu Jul 4, 2013 6:15 pm

Started this so we could put stuff happening around the league and discuss it.

Huge trade in the works. Boston and Dallas close on a deal sending Tyler Seguin to Stars for Loui Eriksson. Other parts involved as well.

Wow is all I can say.

Agree - Wow...must be more pieces than just Lou.

Also, might make it easier to play in Boston for Kessel.

Yeah. If its one for one, Kessel > Eriksson. Both good players, but Kessel is better than him.

Loui Eriksson is a beast and fits the Bruins system but I can see this coming back to bite Boston big time.

Seguin is only 21 and has tons of skill and potential there is a good chance he could put it all together with a bigger role.

At least the Leafs won't look stupid if this kid turns into a superstar.

Briere just signed with the Habs 2 years 8 million.

With Vinny taking 4.5 per and Briere taking 4 I don't know how Bozak thinks he is worth that much cash.

Boston is a smart organization. They must know something about Seguin that they don't like that we don't know. Still, I think Kessel turned out to be a pretty good player even though Boston didn't want him and it's entirely probable Seguin will have a great career too. Could be tough for Boston fans to swallow if the numbers start piling up for Seguin in Dallas.

Bobby Ryan to Ottawa! Didn't see that happening. Alfie leaving must've triggered something.

Even worse is that the Sens lose Alfredsson and now get Bobby Ryan!

Forgot Detroit is gonna be in the same division next year, should be interesting facing Ottawa.

Nothing worse than seeing the Sens get better.
