byron froese is a nobody.

2nd rounder for a 4th liner (albeit a good one) is a bit too rich for my blood, even if the draft is "weaker" than most.

I really don't like moving a 2nd rounder for Boyle. Don't get me wrong, he's a good role player...it just doesn't make sense for us right now.

It only makes sense to me if they're confident they can re-sign him and that he's going to be cheaper going forward. I don't mind adding the kind of player I think they're really short on, even for a 2nd. I just think that if he's not in the future plans it's a huge waste. The playoffs are far from a guarantee and Brian Boyle isn't going to be the difference.

Interesting that it was potentially a bigger deal with Boyle and the Leafs getting Fillipula but he rejected the deal.
