I think Boudreau needs to go

Personally. He's taken this team as far as he can take them and it just looks like the team is tuning him out. They need a new voice, otherwise the Caps are going to be circling the drain for a bit.

Well now he's gone and replaced by Dale Hunter.

I'm not the biggest Boudreau fan but a huge part of this blame goes on the players. Ovechkin is turning out to be one crappy captain. There is no excuse for him to be playing like dog **** anymore. But frankly, just the fact that the 'star' and 'leader' of the team wasn't even willing to listen to his head coach is a troubling sign.

You can't strip him off his captaincy, but it looks like Ovie isn't captain material.

Truthfully though man...Bruce probably should have been fired after they got swept by Tampa. This team needed or needs to go deep in the playoffs and the way they have been playing the last two weeks, you kinda figure Bruce wasn't going to last.

It's a top 5 job, if Dale does well, he will most likely keep it. If not, coaches will come out of retirement to coach this team. Bruce made his money, he might bounce back elsewhere, but he got his paper and he can retire. Just seems like with him, the team peaked.

Yeah, this team needs discipline and Boudreau was the one who allowed them to get undisciplined in the first place. He needed to go.

Boudreau was Eddie Jordan but with more success.

If he was consistently as bitchy as he was on HBO 24/7, then I could see why players would tune him out. Lighten up sometimes, jeez.

But that is still no excuse for playing like divas. Ovechkin, Semin, etc. should be embarrassed.
