Well which do you prefer? Brutal honesty or sugar coating?

What Phil said was no different than Van Gundy being honest about Dwight Howard.

I never said I had a problem with him voicing his opinion on the roster/team; what I was pointing out is the subsequent comments he made seem to be venting the disrespect he felt from the Knicks organization by not even reaching out to him.

So which is it? "I don't want to have anything to do with your team." or "how dare you not even call me about coaching your pathetic franchise". ?????

Quite honestly I don't see what was to gain by him bashing the team in a national interview. Why not take the high ground and just pull a "no comment" or show some respect to a coaching colleague and wish Woodson the best?

His act just seem bitter and childish.

Liar. He would have taken the job. He's just mad that Dolan didn't approach him and hired Woodson. Keep your thoughts to yourself old man. I will say though that the part about Stat and Melo not fitting together is no secret.

Phil Jackson speaks!

He wants a ready-made championship team. He's the best at controlling contenders, but we've seen other high-profile coaches take on teams that aren't. Phil Jackson just isn't one. He wants the easy route. Can't blame him since he's retired.

Put another way, he won't take on a project where he sees it's designed to fail.

"Its sad, but true" mantra is pathetic. If we cant win with this group right now then we're not meant to win anything from a few years back to 5 years in the future.

Lebron Wade and Bosh said no. Kobe and Durant are not available to us. Sucks for the Knicks huh? Melo Amare Tyson Lin said yes (Lin will resign so he says yes.) You hate this team go jump off the proverbial bridge.

I just know when we do well these names I see here will be no where to be found.

Just stop. What he said is true and has been debated on here numerous times. The roster isn't well put together. Why get mad at him for saying it?

Phil wouldn't have turned down $10M of Jim's money. You can be sure of that; don't kid yourself. Jim didn't want the guy for better or worse.

IMO the Knicks couldn't afford the risk of letting Woodson go after what he was able to do, rescuing the season from disaster.

Phil has risks associated with him at this age. He's old and cranky just like LB was.

Knicks made a sound decision. And Dolan didn't want to open his vault; who could blame him.

Phil woulda come -- get real. People don't turn down that much cash. He is definitely bitter that he didn't get a call. Doesn't mean his critiques of the roster don't have legitimacy but his feelings (and retirement cash cow) are hurt. Obviously.

Phil could have 50 rings but that doesn't mean he don't want cash padding and ego soothing. Please get real.

Stop what? My belief in my team. I think its very short sighted by many who believe that. If Westbrook was on another team people wouldnt dare put him and Durant together. People wouldnt dare put Wade and Lebron together. But they in the Finals though.

It just seems you cant put two talented players together without it being guard and a front court player.

You know Boston's big three had huge doubts when KG first got there.

Phil contradicts himself in the same article saying they dont fit but someone just needs to blend it together. If they can be blend then that means they can fit.

Something that is debated doesnt make it true. We dont debate the color of an orange. U seem mad at what Im saying. So yes bro IM MAD.

We got a point guard, defensive 2 guard, and scoring 3, scoring 4, defensive 5. Who cant work with that?

The issues is defensively. OKC and Miami hang there hat on defense and there talent players "who dont fit" takes them to the top. Offensively the whole team needs better movement. Rewatch the games. People complain to much that it doesnt work but advise how to make it work. Phil does both at the same time. If you cant see that put the Drose gif up.

One thing you can say about Jimmy Dolan is that he is loyal to his head coaches and he makes sure he applies that to the FO also. I'm willing to give Woodson a chance after proving that this team can play Defense when MDA couldn't do it with this team.

Phil Jackason can stay retired as far as I'm concern.

The fact that Phil has the clout to say these sorts of things is precisely why Dolan would never hire him. Unlike Dolan, Phil actually earned it.
