Is Rasheed Wallace the most talented Knick?

Postby KNIXFAN_83 on Sun Nov 18, 2012 10:25 pm

Think about it. If you take every Knick on this current roster in their prime, Rasheed Might be the most talented. Not the best but talented. He is a stretch 4 slash 5 with a post game. And is a great one on one defender and help defender. He is also a good athlete because not many players can take 2 years off and come back and show all four of those major skilled mentioned before at 38. Just Saying...

One of the most unique players I have ever seen in my life. In his prime he had top 5 player talent. He would use it in spurts. But he really was at his best just being a part of the team and doing what the team needed. His weakness was his temper. This is a guy who would hit someone in the face. Get called for it. Then yell about it.

Sheed WAS one of the most talented players of all time. At his size to have the shooting touch he had, low post moves and defensive awareness he was the all around package. Problem is Sheed never cared to be the best. This conversation was happening 10 years ago lol not now.

Jason Kidd might go down as a top 3 point guard all time behind Magic and your flavor of tea (Isiah Thomas/John Stockton)

imo part of talent is ability to use talent. I mean, Eddy Curry could rebound and block shots when he wanted to, he just rarely wanted to. He also could make open 3's (isn't he 3-3 all time?) score in the paint at will etc. Would he have been the most talented player on Spurs/Mavs? No.

Sheed is, offensively, a less tenacious KG. He could probably have been a first team kind of guy if he was not allergic to post play and had a general dislike for contact.
There is no asterisk on ANY N.B.A. titles.

Numbers don't lie, people who use them do

Also before I get blasted by everyone for saying Rasheed was one of the most talented players of all time, his college coach Dean Smith thought he was the most talented kid he ever coached. Thats the same guy who coached MJ.

Most Def. Its almost like he held himself back. He should have as many rings and mvp's as Duncan.

This core would have been amazing in 2005.

Kidd
Brewer/Felton
Melo
Stat
Sheed

:o

Not so bad now, either.

But I would say Stat, Kidd, or Melo would be more talented.

And thats why I started this thread because this is a very talented team. You looking at guys who have rings, allstars, and hof. And when you really get down to it. Sheed is a bad dude. Thats why Woodson knew to recruit him and why Camby is playing behind him. We all thought great Camby. But look at what Sheed brings and its not even close. And this was after taking 2 years off.

Definitely one of the most talented of his generation. Melo and Kidd are up there also though. Albeit, different skill sets.
