Brian Windhorst who has been following Lebron since he was in high school claimed the same thing 2 days ago in a chat with another local sports guy that was publicized. Can't locate that link but I saw it.

Our inside source on another board says it's true.

Trivisonno the guy in the link is not a sports broadcaster and up until this point the farthest our radio and TV guys have gone on Lebron's FA is that he'd be a fool to leave. So
this is a new stance.

What is this a domino effect?

Kobe, the Ginobili, now Lebron?

If Lebron is leaning towards staying in Cleveland it is MUCH better for us if he extends now then takes his time and does it during the summer.

Man, if this is true, the media better get on Walsh's case. He sounded so freaking sure of himself.

I think guys stating what a great move it was to make the deadline deal should get ready for some serious backpeadling and eating crow.....

If Lebron extends and Wade doesn't come (he probably won't) then Walsh must get two max players out of Amar'e,Bosh and Johnson. If not then he won't survive next season. Same goes for D'antoni IMO.

I supported that trade and still do. There are still plenty of other guys one can sign to improve this team. I am sorry but Jeffries, Hill and the 2012 pick were not going to net us anything close to what we'll get this summer even if it's only secondary players. Plus with the cap room, we can recover some of those picks if the picks are really that important.

We have been sucking for like 10 years now. The owner was not going to allow us to continue sucking to rebuild with high picks via draft. Just wasn't going to happen.

The sinking feeling that I started to get this past month just got worse. Granted, beat writers are beat writers...no matter what city...so I'll hope and pray still.

The point is that Kobe and Ginobili extended and now it looks like Lebron might too. You fo realize that we still need to get TWO max guys in order to justify the trade right?Because everything else could have been down DURING the summer without the risk of losing valuable assets for nothing. The only way this trade is not a failure is if we get TWO max player. TWO, not one.

BTW, not wanting to paint a negative pciture but given the Hawks season I wouldn't be surprised if Johnson extends before hitting FA---same goes for Amar'e. I hope I'm wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if those guys are off the market quick.

If Lebron isnt coming better he sign now.

Then we can get a game plan together for our off season rather than waiting for King poohead to decide...

I dunno. I think it's hilarious that supporters of the Hill/Jeffries trade acted as if it had NO RISKS.

I'm a bit surprised by this, I always thought LeBron would've waited until the Finals were over before making a decision.

One thing is for sure: If Walsh really stands by "not overpaying" for guys then he will have a hard time getting anybody here. Guys like Bosh,Amar'e and Johnson have become max players now--that much is for sure. Actually Johnson is a prime example of someone that could be had for a max contract. I believe Atlanta didn't offer the max and they are unlikely to do so---now if Walsh is reluctant to do that he won't even survive the summer.

Yeah it could be "official" news maybe later today or tomorrow or early next week, from listening to that tape (WTF is all that cleveland advertising nonsense at the beginning? I fast forwarded to the 5 min mark and it was still going on),

BUT until then i won't be surprised if some statement from lebron's camp comes out saying "the previously rumored statements are not true" or something similar to the trevor ariza fiasco

I agree. Hell I thought it would drag out to september but I think he needs to reup for signing potential free agents. He lost out last year by not commiting.

For James it makes sense to stay. Even as a Knick fan you can't deny it. I ALWAYS said that if the Knicks want a serious shot at Lebron they MUST show that they are a good team without him, they MUST show that they are a 40 win team right now and therefore I passionately questioned D'Antoni and his whole "guys are on expiring contracts" agenda etc. I also hoped that Walsh would be able to get us a good PG last summer---I just KNEW we had to be solid this season.
