Oh man this is a tough decision, Barg is indeed a good player and he has proven this and my main issues with him are injuries and rebounding, were his injuries his fault or self inflicted (AKA STAT?) No, when he does play does he hurt his team? No (Actually he's the best player on the court). Does he get other players involved? Yes, and actually he has done a better job than Melo in that aspect of the game (Sorry to say). I like the way Barg plays in the Triangle because he does do an excellent job at one thing, plays catch! Barg well pass back and forth, working the defender, and picking the right time to shoot (Exclude the 3pt shot where he could have just held the ball and let the time run out, he just wasn't use to winning a game.)

But anyway, If the price is right I would bring him back in a heart beat, but it can not be a contract that would hinder us if he goes down. Put him in a position to compete for 6th man. He could be our Kukoc.

I think for the minimum it'd be a decent move.

Think about why he's been considered such a big failure so far... Raptors used the number one overall pick on him. The Knicks gave up 3 picks (1 first) for him. So obviously when he sucks then, it hurts even more. But at the minimum? I mean we're really only talking about a roster spot (assuming he's not a poor locker room presence). It'd be pretty easy to cut ties if need be.

Other than rebounding, his help defense may hurt. However, he is not the sole reason for the defensive issue. So before fixing him, there maybe other things need to be fixed first (eg. perimeter defense). His reaction is slow, so hope Fisher is patient enough to teach him defense.

No one can play with Melo.

Bargs. Stat, Lin, Chandler....the proof is there.

When Melo is healthy, Bargs sucks. Right now Barhs looks like a superstar.

How many games has both Anthony and Bargnani been healthy at the same time?

Tyson was an allstar and DPOY. Melo must have been holding him back from being MVP

For a minimum contract you aren't expecting a game changer. Jason Smith is making like 3 mil. If it costs us under that I'd take Bargs as a 4th big. Any more cash or a bigger role and I'm staying clear.

So you want a guy that can score a lot of points AND play defense? For next to nothing? If Bargnani was able to do that we wouldn't even be having this debate and folks wouldn't be looking to cut his primo pasta off.

All I have to say is that if this guy is still on the team next year:

1) We deserve to be the laughing stock of this league
2) Phil is a clueless egomaniac

Definitely, he should definitely focus on improving his defense, watching more videos and know where to go after rotation.
But at this point, I thought Fisher puts him with Jason Smith together for the upcoming draft reason. Are you sure you want to win some games?

Maybe a rival like indiana or boston will try to drive the price up for him. Then they can be stuck :D

For a cheap contract I would think of bringing him back in a bench role.

Return to New York Knicks
