I watched Khan's first round...that's it...and this already my favorite battle of the year. That five boroughs work was such a fresh take and he just RIPPED it...man.

About to watch the J-Fox and Khan battle. NYB's list was funny. I saw that yesterday. Arsonal was garbage that entire battle, but that bar takes the cake.

What's your thoughts on the Arsonal vs Hitman battle and Hitman in general?

I think Hitman CRUSHED Arsonal. I don't know why I find him entertaining, but I'm a fan. To me he's closer to generic street rappers than to lyrical, original cats...but somehow he never fails to entertain me and keep me impressed. I don't get mad when people hate on him, but I won't. He is starting to get a lil cocky though, talking trash and such. Idk that he'd do well against the true top tier of battle rap...in fact I highly doubt it. But he's second tier and a threat to beat anyone who comes weak. Aye Verb isn't pulling that two round nonsense he dropped last month against Holla.

IDK Arsonal went in. The Street Figter reference was serious, the opening line was crazy and the Kobe rings line was hilarious. That nigguh OD'd they both went in.

Honestly, I'm not an arsonal fan at all so take this with a grain of salt but I seriously felt completely underwhelmed by Ars...he talked so much trash for so long to come with a handful of quotables mixed with some corniness and fillerish bars. I wasn't impressed at all...but I'm not an Arsonal fan.

PH just really shocked me, I thought his third round vs Eurgh was really good...and then this battle, he WENT IN on a new jack and called out divas for not giving new battlers a chance. So much props for this battle to PH.

PH deserves nothing but respect...musically he went a lot further along then any of today's battle cats and he worked with a better group of rappers...He's no top tier battle rapper but he deserves his proper. He's also the last cat to beat Diz where it was pretty much without debate, which is a nice battle medal to wear.

But yeah that Voicemail bar was ****' dope. I'm a Holla fan without a doubt.

Musically, I'm back to listening to my safe albums...aka stuff like this

It was posted in this current 2.0 thread he posted his Album on his myspace page...Sai delivered. Incredible piece of work here.... although most of it probably was completed 5yrs ago as it exudes the sound. Talk is the project sat on the shelf for this period of time. Industry execs pulling janky moves only for them to come back to bite them in the butt to be proven wrong. I remember when Sai and Joey got into the beef some heads were trying to act like Sai wasn't lyrical. Now many are saying he dropped a classic. It will be interesting to see what his numbers show this coming week. Supposedly he's making noise on iTunes downloads

The middle to end of this track is unbelievable Fav by far the best IMO. I do know for sure this joint is a classic. He better release a video to this

@Bluest: I started to DL that Saigon over the weekend. Dude is getting such major props on itunes reviews that I thought it was too good to be true. I think I'll have to cop this now.

Now Sai just needs to do numbers selling. If we're keeping it 100, this is a great thing for hip hop. Saigon got the same treatment a lot of my favorite emcees do, they put together an album the same style that got them signed in the first place...and then the label tells them to do something different. Saigon wouldn't pander and got shelved. This happens way to often, even with emcees that have hype (Papoose had a machine behind him and couldn't get release...Rakim wouldn't do what Aftermath wanted...Joey stayed shelved and tried to go indy. The list goes on). Saigon dropped an album that is getting huge hype and it COULD have been off a major with huge support and building on his Entourage appearance...FIVE YEARS AGO!

Label heads are stupid. Props to Sai.

P.S. Who the **** said Saigon isn't lyrical? LMAO, dude been had bars and concepts.

Big week in GT...BOLA battles beginning to drop and the GT division keeps dropping bombs. I'm watching battles all day and I'll be editing in the battles and my thoughts as I see 'em.

First up...Thesaurus vs Mac Lethal (two of the best freestyle battle emcees of the 2000+ era, like top 5). Review coming.

Uhmm...All I wanna say is round two is going and the rebuttals are just INSANE...These dudes wrote one and a half rounds and just freestyle rebuttaled for half of each round...fitting in multi-syllabic rebuttals to open rounds, mid-bars and to close...So much respect for both after this and I was starting to lose a lot of love for Saurus...but He KILLED this by syncing freestyles in.

Round 1 - Mac Lethal
Round 2 - Saurus but holy ish at both coming so rebuttal heavy :o :o :o
Round 3 - I edge to Saurus but it's hella close. I just think Mac closed his round weaker.

Battle was impressive as hell to me, wow @ the rebuttal game. Diz vs QP is next.

I'll give QP all the respect in the world for trying...but he was screwing up his bars which is just more proof that emcees should not take on more than they can handle. He already had to prepare for two battles and this looks like he just threw it in to do Lush and Diz a favor. He had fun with it and actually had a couple of nice bars, but that's bound to be his weakest performance at the event.

Diz just has stepped up his presence game a ton in recent battles. Even in the NY battle with Swave his presence played a big factor in him being the consensus winner. Unlimited rounds vs him is pretty brutal because he'll spit for hours if you let him and he freestyles effectively. Opened his bars up with freestyle punches here for instance. The whole thing leading to "that's my rebuttal for choking" was crazy bars but overall, this really wasn't up to par with some of his other battles. It was dope though when his bars were heavy they were REAL heavy...just that he missed more often with attacks than usual. I think he needs unlimited time to beat DNA though to keep it real.

The new Lupe CD is like 2010 KRS-One and 808's Kanye had a baby and this album was the product.
