The Washington Wizards acquired Evans prior to last year’s trade deadline and have also expressed interest in re-signing him. However, New York has emerged as a potential suitor since they want to add a veteran shooting guard. Evans was very productive after landing in Washington, averaging a career-high 9.7 points and mentoring the team’s younger players.
Maurice Evans is one of my favorite role players. He is a good 3 point shooter, good defender, and quite athletic for a player in his 30's. On our team, I think you can easily pencil him in as a starting SG. I totally lost track of him being available. If there is any free agent swingman who actually fits on our roster, then Maurice Evans is our guy.
