I can translate Chinese into poor English for you. lol
ESPN reporter went to MSG Training Center to cover about practice.
Although Knicks said that Lin would not show up and not there, reporter never gave up waiting.
Fianlly, he had luck seeing Lin who had not show up in front of media after surgery.
Reporter said Lin walk fast! lol

Is anybody else concerned whether returning earlier might impact Lin as a player in the long run? Are there any data available regarding length of rest after a meniscus surgery and longterm effects on play? Just kinda worried and hope JLin doesn't rush back before he's 100%

Shouldn't be an issue. It's a minor procedure and players return from this within 2-3 weeks. He's basically torn some cartilage in his knee and that piece has now been removed. The bottom line is that he has some arthritis and that means he may have a shorter career, but the concern is not imminent.
He should have no problem playing 25-30 mpg once he comes back.

Well that in itself is rather depressing!

NO more injuries, please! I have a weak heart as it is!

Well, the Bucks have their own injury problems. Delfino and Gooden are sidelined too. Stat might not be needed.
No luck. They both played yestreday. Moute is the only one still out, and he's not the difference maker. Like I said - Bucks not doing us any favors.

Didn't Grant Hill had shot knees and now all of sudden he's riding at an all time high? I may be mistaken?

I thought the surgery was to
repair the torn meniscus, not remove it, wasn't it?

I've read a few news pieces where athletes who had their meniscus completely removed have a significantly shortened career. I hope this won't be the case for Lin.

It was to probably repair it - that's why they gave the 6-week timetable instead of 2-3. But when they do remove the meniscus, they usually don't remove it completely anymore - they do a partial. But yes, I think since Lin is young, they are doing a repair which is longer recovery time but better long-term outcome.

The way that they "repair" it is simply remove the injured part. Because a small part of the meniscus is torn and out of place, it disrupts the normal operation of the knee. That's why you cut it and remove it.
According to reports, it was a very small tear, so we’re not looking at anything major here. Players that have gone through similar procedures have played for years afterwards.

From what I know, Chris Paul had a similar surgury before but he rested for about 2 months. And of course Brandon Roy also had this surgery and returned in 8 days.

there is a big difference between removing it and repairing it. CP3 got his removed. Some people say he hasn't been the same since.

he doesn't play as many minutes and twist his body the way Lin does though...also, didn't someone mention that JR lifts/dunks from his dominant knee only - you don't see him lift from the knee he had surgery on. I don't know if that means anything though.

When the dr's were under the impression I had torn my meniscus they were not going to remove part of it, they basically stitch it to the rest of the meniscus. Its worse to remove than to re-attach. You want to leave as much of the meniscus as possible otherwise 10 years from when they do the surgery they have to do a meniscus replacement.
