Do you guys play games with this team in league together on nba 2k12 or a basketball simulator, or do you guys just decide a winner based on their team?

MP, with LeBron and Dwight, you obviously have the potential to beat anyone. Nick Young is a great third guy to have next to those two cause he'll be getting wide open looks all the time. However, depth is a major concern for your team in a way that it just isn't for anyone else. I mean, if you had a good depth, you'd go 82-0, so it is to be expected.

You can say "what if" Hibbert gets in foul trouble. But, what if Dwight gets in foul trouble? That argument cuts both ways. Moreover, 6''6 Hayes is a bully.. and would probably do just as well against Dwight as any backup center in the league. Not to mention, Ben Wallace still has a lot left on the defensive end (just can't log the same amount of minutes). With my front 6.. my team should cruise to a great record and a top seed, even if I am relying on T Will and DJ White (and Childress for that matter). Not too sure that T Will and DJ White are all that bad for #8-10 guys in the rotation. 8-10 is bottom of the rotation, and I'd say they are both rotation worthy guys on most NBA teams. Once I get into the playoffs, Deng would probably log 40 minutes plus (which he is capable of doing). Stucky gets all of the backup minutes at both guard spots. Hayes and Wallace are more than capable of handling the backup minutes at center. Assuming Gibson gives me 34mpg at PF, that leaves 22 minutes TOTAL, at the very most, to divide between T Will, DJ White, and Childress. All three of which are probably better options than your starting PF and PG.

You have two starters who would probably never see the court on my team. Your depth concerns are in a different than world than mine, or any other GM's. Again, its to be expected, you have LeBron and Dwight. If you had depth, your team would be unreal. But there is no denying that it is a real serious matter. Forget fouling out, what if LeBron or Dwight got injured?

I'll add to that, Hibbert averaged 3 fouls per game, and Dwight averaged 2.9. When you consider that Hibbert will be playing with a cast of very astute and elite defenders, you'd expect his fouls to drop drastically. Also consider that you'll be relying on Dwight to play entire games or close to it in the playoffs. He's going to be a constant threat to foul out or he is going to have to really take it easy defensively, which is not a good thing at all.

EDIT: I will admit though, Hibberts foul:minute ratio is worse than Dwights. However, Hibbert is growing as a player every year and you can expect him to learn how to foul less still. Whereas, Dwight is probably past that point. And again, Hibbert will benefit from the players around him.

I was making my statement that Dwight Howard and LeBron james are 1 and 3 respectively in terms of getting to the FT line. So yes they draw fouls and get opposing teams into foul trouble.

That is the point I was trying to make.

You can say that for almost any team what if there starters go hurt. If CP3 got hurt who gets your team easy shots. It goes both ways as well.

Assuming both teams are healthy and that is fair since all those guys will be ready for camp injuries aren't a concern for out teams at the moment.

You can sleep on Kirk Hinrich and Lavoy Allen and I am not claiming they are great players but they both play above average defense and both can make shots. That is all they need to do as I have two guys that will always require double teams.

While I might not have the greatest bench I have a bench that has played a collective good amount of playoff games. THat is important in my eyes. I don't have a lot of unknowns that have consistently played on poor teams.

Like I said I am just refuting the point I am the only team with concerns about there depth. If you have good starters/stars chances are you don't excellent depth. Teams with ok starters probably have a deep team. But stars win in this league. Ill take the stars over some good bench players imo.

we are trying to do both. The guy who was suppose to put the teams on the 2k roster hasn't been around for a while. Hopefully he gets back soon!

Chris Paul gets hurt and Stuckey slides into the starting lineup. I still have 2 all-stars, and an excellent defensive squad. My team will tread water til he gets back. LeBron gets hurt and you'll be lucky to win a game with Dwight and a bunch of scrubs. Dwight gets hurt and you aren't winning too many games either. So it's actually not the same at all.

I'm not sleeping on Lavoy or Hinrich. If this was 2010 then you'd have a damn scary team as Hinrich would be the perfect PG next to LeBron. But it's not, and I'm just not sure Hinrich has too much game left, on either end of the floor. Lavoy is fine, a solid NBA player. However, a couple of good playoff games against the Celtics doesn't make you an NBA starter. Neither is a legitimate NBA starter at this point, and that is not debatable. Nobody has depth concerns like you do. You mortgaged your depth to an extreme degree for Lebron and Dwight. It was the right move in my eyes. It made you an elite team. However, it is what it is.

And again, I've built my team around a bunch of heady and elite defenders. LeBron and Dwight are going to have a lot more trouble drawing fouls against my team than others.

It is the same because dwight and lebron have both single handily taken teams to the finals with scrub teams. Also LeBron has never been injured once and Dwight had his first injury this year so they are two are the least injured players in the NBA so injuries are not a concern.

Also I have 2 all nba defensive players so I think I have an elite defense as well. Not many teams will be scoring to much against me.

Like I said before I am not claiming I have elite depth because I dont. But what I have is players that know there roles and do things well in limited action.

Guys like Lucas, Redd, Green, Howard, Ebanks, Jeffires, Bonner have all played role on good teams in there career. Lavoy Allen is young. I understand there is not a lot known about him. But Miami starts shane battier and gives norris cole minutes. Stars make role players seem better.

Point being the NBA goes to 7-8 man rotations in the playoffs for the most part. Depth becomes less and less important the deeper you get.

MP, for the most part, I agree with everything you said. I think you did well filling out your roster with the right type of players also. Dwight is a serious injury concern with his back going forward, but yeah, LeBron does seem machine like.

I will say though, Dwight took a a team with prime Rashard Lewis, Hedo, and Jameer Nelson to the finals. Not exactly scrubs. In fact, all three of those players were either all-stars or near all-star level in their prime. LeBron's team was pretty trash, but even still, Z, Gooden, and Hughes were all average to above average starters at their positions. Whereas, Nick Young would be the only other player like that on your squad if Dwight went down. Also, the East was TERRIBLE that year. The Pistons were legit.. but after them, I'm unsure if any East team would have made the playoffs in the West that year. That includes the Cavs. If you remember the Warriors were an 8th seed that year and knocked off the Mavs in the first round. The East was truly the JV conference.

Again, I agree with your points for the most part. Rotations do shorten deep in the playoffs, and stars matter most. However, that is kind of my point. If Dwight or LeBron sustains an extended injury during the season, you might not even make the playoffs. Then if you do, the shorten rotations hurt you a lot more than it helps you because your team falls off after 3 players, whereas almost every other playoff team in BAT is able to field legitimate players 8 deep or so.

With that said, Lebron and Dwight stay healthy and you have as good of a shot as anyone to win it all. Again, I think Nick Young is the perfect SG. And of course, as you mentioned, you can fill in your holes during later off-seasons. However, that is true for everyone.

MP, Your team has 2 Elite players, I had to find something to nitpick about

You could have picked 10 of us from realgm with those two guys and you still would have went far. If a "concern" for your depth is the only worry, you have done a good job with your team. Everyone here has concerns about their teams, your is less obvious cause you have players that mask those issues...
