O.T.: Watches

Postby next2spike on Mon Jun 11, 2012 4:59 pm

I'm looking for a watch that looks sharp enough to wear to an interview, but that I could also wear out. I've been looking around, but most watches I have come across are pretty expensive. I'm looking for something hopefully under $100. Does anyone know of good companies? Websites? One you own yourself? I'm interested in one with a black face. Thanks.

I would recommend going with a black Eco drive. Check Costco. Don't get a big watch.

what is your age?

you don't want something that looks too expensive if you are young, especially if you don't have the expensive attire to match it

I would say check out amazon or overstocked and search there.

My watch of preference is Diesel, and there is some good deals on there, but they are well over the price range , depending the style.

My oldest son likes Kenneth Cole and Fossil and he gets them for good prices off of those sites.

I usually go with Kenneth Cole for watches. Good looking but not too expensive, and you can usually pick one up at a Burlington on the cheap.

I generally like watches with 2 tones

Silver is a nice color and good to pair with light black

Gunmetal is also a good all around choice

Why do you feel you need a watch for the interview? It might be better you don't have one on, so you don't bother to check it while being interviewed. If you do decide to get one, try to find one that is in keeping with the company you are interviewing with.

This is the watch Jeremy Lin wore to the Times 100 event.
It's a Flud watch, and listed at $90 now on the Flud site.

Edited: Had picture of wrong watch up. Changed it.

I just like the entire look of the suit with the watch. I've been interviewing to become a teacher, so it is ideal for teachers to have watches incase their isn't a clock in the room for demo lessons (luckily the one demo I did had a clock), or when teaching in general. Plus, I would also like to have one for when I go out. Feel like I'm missing something. I understand where you're coming from though.

This one is perfect. Its around $125. Its not too flashy, but people will notice it and it goes with every business casual/professional outfit as its not a large silver piece.

The simple elegant look is what you're looking for. GL!
