phil jackson is an interesting dude. would love to have had him coaching the knicks way back when.. but at this point i think the ship has sailed. it's almost too good of a story at this point.

That's like saying Wade isn't a franchise player, now that LeBron is on the team.
So you aren't a franchise player unless you get drafted by that team? Then who is our franchise player, Shumpert? Jerome Jordan? awful logic.
im not even sure he remembers the point he was trying to make, hes just really throwing **** at a wall.
At least I'm not the only one who sees that

Not that Phil did not speak the truth but he sounds kind of sore for not being talked to by dolan.
Could our team work yes it could. Could it have worked with Phil yes but would phil take the job with out a bigger say then dolan will allow. Nope
At the end of the day Phil is pissed because here is a team he could have worked with but because of demands and egos it would not work. what would have been more clumsy then the product on the court would have been the coach owner relationship
Quote from ESPN’s Bill Simmons posted on Twitter “28 FT’s to 5. I don’t watch rigged NBA games, I’m switching to hockey”

Read it again.
I'm clearly saying both of those guys are franchise players.

the only thing Phil confirmed is that the Knicks never called, everything else was already known and Phil is required for confirmation.
But that's what happen when you have a failed plan.
Odd are you're more likely to become well off by putting in the hard work, not hoping for the winning powerball numbers.BTW, the Knicks didn't spend 4 years rebuilding, they had a firesale and tricked off the money.
That just reminded me.. haha, this used to be my sig on this site..
"Anyone who sits around and waits for the lottery to better themselves, either in real life or in sports, Is a Loser............... TKF
but you are correct, we had a firesale and tricked off the money.. great point...
Sometimes you confuse me thugger.. you will make comments like this, yet you seem to at times defend the current course this team has taken.. care to clarify for me, because it seems like we are always on different sides of the debate... yet agree on some things... odd..

vallen wrote:are you serious ? every coach knows the players theyve played. Phil has watched more game film of Amare and Melo from preparation, then anyone in this forum has watched them in games for fun. dont be a noob and put yourself, or anyone on this forum, in Phil Jax's league.
and once again most people here have been saying the same things, yet as soon as someone else from the outside says it, the board takes it as an insult. does anyone here really believe this team is a championship contender ?
Why the hell not?
This roster is definitely championship caliber and I'm not afraid to say that, whether we get to championship contention level is just a matter of time, consistency and experience playing together

I'm not the only one who can't see whatever point you're trying to make. He responded to a post about drafting franchise players and gave the names of two guys who weren't drafted by the teams they won titles on.

Phil is not exactly at that age where he can afford to rebuild or take a beating from the Pistons for a few seasons...
He's right. The Knicks are a very flawed team and unless the players take it upon themselves not to "clumsily" punch glass or come in good shape...or respect a coach to do as he says.
I just hope the Knicks use this as motivation...

This man coached two of the biggest ball stoppers in NBA history and he then chooses to take a shot a Melo. Umm...Phil helped create this "Iso ball" when he gave guys like Jordan and Bryant the right to break out of the triangle and go one on one whenever they wanted. He shouldn't knock the same style of play that got him his rings. That would make him a hypocrite.
My earliest memory as a Knick fan?
In middle school, being pissed off when they small screened the Knick-Rocket NBA final game for the stupid O.J. chase. Still SMDH.

You think Melo has proven himself to be at the same level of Kobe and MJ ?

Unless money had become a problem, Jackson was never coming here. But if Miami loses to the Thunder, he might be headed there...
Pretty much nailed it, duetta. We've got pretty good players now, but we don't have what Phil Jax requires at every job -
the best player in the league.
If Bron had come here, Jax would be on his knees begging for the gig. But Bron didn't, so Jax won't come here, period. And even with all the bad blood between Jax and Riles, he'd walk into the Miami gig in a hot minute, because it's a G for another ring.
The Knicks board is like a group of pre-teen Twilight fans. -Waya
