phil jackson is an interesting dude. would love to have had him coaching the knicks way back when.. but at this point i think the ship has sailed. it's almost too good of a story at this point.

The biggest problem here is that we just got a confirmation from the most successful coach in the history of the NBA that we need rebuilding after spending 4 years rebuilding.

the only thing Phil confirmed is that the Knicks never called, everything else was already known and Phil is required for confirmation.

But that's what happen when you have a failed plan.

Odd are you're more likely to become well off by putting in the hard work, not hoping for the winning powerball numbers.

BTW, the Knicks didn't spend 4 years rebuilding, they had a firesale and tricked off the money.

are you serious ? every coach knows the players theyve played. Phil has watched more game film of Amare and Melo from preparation, then anyone in this forum has watched them in games for fun. dont be a noob and put yourself, or anyone on this forum, in Phil Jax's league.

and once again most people here have been saying the same things, yet as soon as someone else from the outside says it, the board takes it as an insult. does anyone here really believe this team is a championship contender ?

This roster is definitely championship caliber and I'm not afraid to say that, whether we get to championship contention level is just a matter of time, consistency and experience playing together

He's right. The Knicks are a very flawed team and unless the players take it upon themselves not to "clumsily" punch glass or come in good shape...or respect a coach to do as he says.

Umm...Phil helped create this "Iso ball" when he gave guys like Jordan and Bryant the right to break out of the triangle and go one on one whenever they wanted. At Jackson's advanced age, he wouldn't even have a time for rebuild. Moreover, why end your storied coaching career in a high-profile situation where you were likely to end up with egg on your face?

Unless money had become a problem, Jackson was never coming here. But if Miami loses to the Thunder, he might be headed there...

Pretty much nailed it, duetta. We've got pretty good players now, but we don't have what Phil Jax requires at every job - the best player in the league.

If Bron had come here, Jax would be on his knees begging for the gig. But Bron didn't, so Jax won't come here, period. And even with all the bad blood between Jax and Riles, he'd walk into the Miami gig in a hot minute, because it's a G for another ring.
