i agree. although, i think harpring said during the last jazz game that they are looking to groom burks as a pg? doubt that ends up happening, though. oh well...i guess we just hope for the best and expect the worst.

The thing about Kabongo, is that his presence may push Burke down.

Yep if we get him I'll be celebrating and like StephNYKurry said if it helps Burke fall to us that be great too.

Yeah had wanted the Knicks to look hard at Kabongo 2… He might still be in range though if he comes out, simply because scouts will have not seen enough..

My boy Reggie had an average night tonight

12 points (5-6, 1-2) 9 boards, 6 assists, 3 steals, and 0 TO's

If none of our PG targets (McCollum, Kabongo, Burke) are there, we need to pick Reg

Some guy on the duke squad is stealing Melos style.. Three shots to the dome.. I would love nothing more than to have UM win and some how the court gets stormed..

Erick Green is another option that we really need to consider. Gives some positional value as well. He can masquerade as a point guard and maybe we could trade J.R. for a 2nd Rounder or something.

Berman of the Post apparently believes that the Knicks will favor looking to draft a PG with their 1st round pick to replace Prigioni who he doesn't think wants back. There are some point guards that are slotted in most mocks to be around at where the Knicks pick so who knows. Knicks have a lot of needs and pretty much can use everything but an offensively strong forward.

They could use a young PG that can push pace and penetrate to offer up a different flavor from when Felton and Kidd are out there...and to give some hope that they can get more out of that position at some point (lol). So Canaan, Kabongo, Burk, etc., etc., will likely get looks.

As we've seen with this "older" team, they could use some athleticism and quickness so an athletic SF that has some defensive potential would also help quite a bit...on paper at least. Maybe CJ Leslie, Lebryan Nash, etc, etc.

Since Woodson likes to go small and spread the floor, obviously someone that can shoot the ball (consistently, sorry JR) from the perimeter would help, especially at the SG position. Quite a good number of jumpshooting SG's projected.

With Wallace probably done for, Martin a question mark as far as future plans and Camby's propensity for injury adding another defensive/rebounding big man (a C/PF type) could also help. Gorgui Deng, Jeff Withey, Steven Adams, etc.

Or maybe someone like Tony Mitchell drops to them and they take a gamble on high upside high risk player?

So yeah...the Knicks pretty much could use depth at every position. They'll have a lot of options for all those areas so that's the good news. Now Grunwald just need to be able to pick the right guy.

Too bad they don't have the assets to trade up and draft Marcus Smart.

What do you guys think of Isaiah Austin from Baylor? I watched him post-HS for the 1st time yesterday (vs Texas) and he's a weird prospect. He's tall, lengthy, he can shoot, mobile, and has a post game(which wont be effective in the NBA at all...needs to add major bulk)

But im having a difficult time evaluating him as an NBA player, alot of skills....however, i just dont see his set of skills translating well to the NBA, atleast not for his position. Not an epic rebounder, not a great post game, not a great shotblocker(given his length & athleticism), needs to add plenty of bulk, and statistically shoots less than 50% from the field...

But hey, thats mainly based on a game I saw last night vs Texas where he went 4-14 from the field, and only had 6 boards in 37 minutes. Maybe someone can fill me in on some stuff he wasnt able to show me last night :dontknow:

You got to look at him like a long term project. He has awesome length, 9-3 standing reach. He is agile, not a stiff robot like some of these other guys that are lanky. He has an intriguing set of skills like you alluded to, he can shoot it from beyond the arc, and can mix it inside a little bit.

He obviously needs to put weight on his frame, develop a low post game, he has some solid footwork already. As he learns to use his body more, he's more finesse right now, he will get better. IMO long term, there's not a more intriguing prospect in this draft. Make him hit the weight room to work on his strength, he can be an excellent player. However if he falls in love with his outside shot and doesn't really get much stronger he can go the route of Brandan Wright.

Green finished with 25 on 10-19 shooting. If they wouldn't call the game so physical in College, he probably would have had 30+.

Reggie Bullock is definitely one of my favorites now. Another great game at Maryland with 19 pts and 12 rebs. His decision making is probably my favorite thing about him, always hits the open man and never forces anything. Only disappointment is his free throw shooting slump. Has had 10 of his 16 missed free throws in the past 8 games.

Also has anyone watched a lot of Dexter Strickland this year? He seems to have improved as a pg averaging 4 assist and only 1.3 TOs a game.

Reg is probably the most undersold player in the draft, should he choose to enter. Kid is straight up cold from deep. Stroke is so easy. His defense is probably just as good as his offense. Hell of a player.

Felton
Shump
Bullock
Melo
Chandler

Looks REAL good to me.
