It turns out to be a great decision."
That was shockingly accurate

Rightfully so, you guys can say all you want about his negativity, but Breen has a very fitting voice for sports commentating.
Knicks fans complain about it, but try listening to the voices of some commentators of other teams. They make you want to watch the game on mute.
Plus, how could you not love his signature "BANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Mike Breen is the best in the business but I hear him to much. He can get annoying. But I would rather him than anyone else.

Best PBP in basketball, and he's a huge knick fan. Did you hear him sound like he exploded in his pants opening night against the Heat when he was calling it for ESPN?
Or what about his voice crack from excitement from those Kidd 3 pointers last night? He's a die hard fan with the best job in the world, my only problem with him is some times he is very critical of "bad shots" players take, but there's about 4 or so seconds left on the shot-clock, so what do you want the player to do besides chuck it up?

I have no problem with Breen at all, he will point something out but in a non chalant way. He did have a lot of praise last night for Melo talking about how unselfish he has been and how it rubs off on the team. There is no such thing as a bad shot with 4 to 3 seconds on the shot clock.

What's wrong with a little constructive criticism? I trust Breen over Barkley and ANY of the TNT announcers' nasty comments about the Knicks. All he is saying, no champion calibur team can be satisfied until the title is theirs. There is always room for improvement.

Shut up with the b*tching. We're lucky to have the best play-by-play announcer in the NBA. Before he was our TV guy, he was doing the Knicks radio coverage on the MSG Radio Network. He's Knicks true blue.
No one else in the NBA that I'd rather have doing our TV play-by-play.

this thread made me LOL.
first off, I like breen a lot. he's a great announcer. i also get irked by some of his comments that he repeats. you guys said it right.
"the knicks will be up by 10, the opponent will hit a 3, knicks miss, opponent hits a 2, and JUST LIKE THAT, it's a 5 pt game!!!"
that annoys me to no end. he seemingly never does it when the knicks trail and make a comeback. it actually makes me feel like the knicks are in big trouble when he says 'JUST LIKE THAT'. it's as if the knicks were up by 18 with 5 minutes left in the 4th Q and now it's a 3 pt game.
he also constantly will say someone takes a bad shot even though the shot clock is winding down under 5 seconds.
but overall, he's a great announcer. i love listening to him. he just has a couple of annoying habits.

i get tired of his voice. once you listened to him for awhile, what he says becomes predictable. then he says the same stuff on every play on every game then it becomes boring.

Sometimes he can be a bit negative, but as a lifelong Knicks fan and as someone who watches basically every single game of theirs, do you really blame him?

I just hate it when teams cut a large deficit against us. It's like he makes it even harder to bear. Hate it with a passion, but that's what makes him so good.

Did anyone notice how excited Breen got when Kidd threw that ball away turning it over to the Spurs in afrantic scramble with a few seconds left? Sounded like he was straight up rooting for them. I bet he had premature ejaculation in his boxers.
Did it not make the game more exciting though? When that moment came, Breen actually had my heart beating faster than the action taking place on the court. He's just doing his job.
I do, though, feel Breen sides too often with the refs, and is sometimes too hard on Melo, but then again, so is Clyde.

I like my announcing team to tell it like it is.
