I think any knick fan with actual basketball sense would have already known that we werne't winning or going far without amare.
For all those fans saying "zach woulda beasted" , guess what, he did beast on the boards, if amare was in though, differnece would've been neither him OR Gasol would've been able to stay in front of Amare. Amare would've ate them alive on offense as well. If you saw every pick and roll play you say the defender drop back to stop the roll b/c all tyson can do is dunk it or lay it in, amare on the other hand could catch it in stride and create. Another big problem was the fact that a 6'8 230lb carmelo was guarding a 7 ft 300 lb Center. In what league, sport, or even world is that a recipe for success? Woody screwed us tonight big time but it was a 2nd night of a back to back and a let down was expected after an intense game against the spurs

we needed amare so we could have given up 140 in this game

amare is never needed.. melo as badly as he was overmatched has put in a better effort than amare ever will.. and melo is outsized like crazy

What jumpshooting ability? He shot 38% with Tyson on the floor last year? If he could shoot jumpers spacing wouldnt be an issue with him on the floor.

I'm sorry, but this loss is on Woodson. He was stubborn with Melo at the 4 when everybody knew Gasol/ZBO would beast on him.

Also, Chandler has been flat for a few games now. Playing terrible D and is not grabbing any boards.

Dam when Amare comes back and dominates again alot of people are going to look stupid. I never liked amare but its hard to admit he wont dominate with 3 pg's who can get him the rock. Im not going to worry about his defense cuz thats wats woodson is for

Amare might help. But the reason we lost tonight was because we didn't go with this lineup:

c - Chandler
pf - Sheed
sf - melo
sg - JR
pg - felton

Let Sheed hover at the three point line on the offensive end, and let him box out Zbo on the defensive end. Sheed was making Gasol and Zbo work for everything. Loved how he played tonight.

One more thing - when you're launching a comeback and pull by 8 with 4 minutes left, I expect the team to go to Melo and not to JR who was mostly cold.

It also became clear tonight that Kidd cannot create anything in a half court set. The guy has zero explosiveness. Still a very valuable player but hes not even really a point gaurd at this stage.

LOL amare would get rejected all night...plus zbo and gasol would outrebound the chit outta him.
Woodson should have used the tyson/sheed combo more and move melo down to the 3. He should have taken out JR the last 3-4 minutes and put in brewer. JR was so off tonite...played like an idiot. This game really questions Woodson's coaching.

I like amare but what the hell is he going to dominate? He had a career % of his shots blocked last year because of constant help defense leaving Chandler to help on Amare. Real talk, if the Knicks want to win a chip, trade Amare for a stretch 4. He cant play with Tyson.

Think we already knew this. Not an issue anyway I like him as a spot up 3pt shooter at the 2.
