The Thunder made a business decision when trading James Harden nine months ago. Now, they need to be just as cold-blooded with Scott Brooks. Brooks has consistently left points on the board in each of the last three seasons and has shown no ability to learn from his mistakes. Read More. Written by Jonathan Tjarks on May 17, 2013

edit: Frankly they don't seem like friends at all. Bron, Wade, CP3 are friends. Maybe someone sharing 2 words with Melo was the most genuine interaction Kobe ever had hehe.
Agreed. I bet he played up his friendship to make his observations more legit.
Kobe once called Melo his best friend in the NBA or something along those lines.

I know he is getting up there in age, but I wonder if the Lakers would be willing to "blow it up" and trade Kobe. Give him a chance to win a title. How about Shump and Amare for Kobe? Would you do that? Would LA?
Kob'e contract is enormous. We would need to add more just to make the salaries match. And to answer your question, no I wouldn't do that.

you wouldnt trade shumpert and amare for bryant? my question is, why the hell not?
lakers would never do that
Why would we trade for Kobe while having Kobe in a headband who is actually better than Kobe at this point in his career? Not to mention we go down a peg on defense & we lose a starter at the PF spot. You are buggggggggggging.
frogfood wrote:What he said wasn't wrong. It's just Kobe being Kobe where every interview now he's either overly dramatic, self-aggrandizing or spiteful.
Very similar to MJ when he got near the end of his career.

This derailed a bit to a chance to dig at Kobe (and why not...) but it was really on the money. It's good to see the media called out like this on how they wanted to see Melo fail last year with Lin
Best part of the Kobe interview The BigBoss posted is how Kobe respects Melo's work ethic. Kobe works hard and for him to respect Melo's work ethic gives me some confidence for this teams future success.
Kobe speaks the truth, but i've noticed since he gave Melo credit for being a tougher guy to guard than Lebron, people have spun into a Melo vs Lebron flame war in the GB.It's interesting to see Kobe praise Melo. It's almost as if he sees Melo coming out on top,and taking his place as that "guy" in the league.
I don't see anything wrong with what Kobe said. In fact I think he's 100% correct. He's sticking up for one of his only friends in the league. People will spin anything.
