Kobe is right period....I mean come on..anyone forgot last season?
Melo came out strong and was averaging around 28 points or so on good shooting..Knicks started 6-4. Melo picked up some minor but lingering injuries and the Knicks started losing more games and as the losses increased the whole media was on his back about shooting the ball etc. Then when Linsanity happened everyone was sure that Melo was hurting the team (a notion I found as ridiculous as the current notion of Stat hurting the team). The last month of the season when we had a real coach again, showed the truth and shut the critics up. Melo carried this team through a brutal schedule , averaging something around 32points/8rebounds on 52% shooting or so, making the playoffs...something that looked like a longshot the moment D'Antoni resigned.
Whenever Melo has played well and scored the ball aggressively this team has been most successful. There is absolutely no denying or spinning this. This is Melo's team and he definitely has the ability to carry and deliver. He has proved it numerous times in the past and this season. As Melo goes the Knicks go.
