Melo - KG : the Aftermath

Post#1 » by KnickSon75 » Wed Jan 9, 2013 2:16 am

http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/story/_/id/8826082/carmelo-anthony-just-wanted-conversation-kevin-garnett

(clears up allot of speculation)

"Two sources with knowledge of the incident said that Anthony, after angrily walking off the floor and through the visiting team's tunnel, went outside the Celtics' locker room screaming, presumably for Garnett."

"I wanted to talk to KG," Anthony said after practice Tuesday. "I think it was something that we both needed to get off our chests and see what really was the problem. It wasn't no altercations, it was just some words and [a] conversation that we needed to have."

A league source said the conversation between Anthony and Garnett actually took place over the phone following the bus incident, and the two players have since cleared the air.

Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo said he wasn't sure what was happening when he saw the commotion near the team bus.

"I thought everybody was coming to talk to each other and figure out some things, going to dinner next time," Rondo said. "I don't know."

Garnett and Anthony first got tangled up in the fourth quarter and both were whistled for a technical foul after jawing with one another near midcourt. Anthony was upset over something Garnett said to him.

"It's certain things that you just don't say to men, another man," Anthony said. "I felt that he crossed the line. Like I said, we're both at an understanding right now, we handled it the way we handled it. Nobody needs to know what was said behind closed doors. So that situation is handled."

I miss Sheed. I think people are really taking his absence for granted. I hope he can get back healthy.

Melo cleared the air with Garnett over the phone?

Really?

We will never win a chip with Mr. Softee. That is pathetic.

He was talking trash to him during a game on May 9, 1999. The significance of that date?

Frank Isola ‏@FisolaNYDN

KG pushed Melo's buttons, Melo reacted but never got violent & said the right things today. For that, I'm guessing fine, no suspension

10m Frank Isola Frank Isola ‏@FisolaNYDN

For what it's worth, I'm hearing that KG's insult that set off Carmelo had nothing to do with "cereal." He used a more common expression.

I agree hopefully the league will as well.

This is OT but as much of a dick Assola is he doesn't push any agendas against specific players. Berman is unbearable with his Melo hate.

+1
KG has always been a punk but he has gone completely overboard since joining the Celtics.

A fine for what? Technically he didn't do ****. Fined for waiting outside the visiting team's bus? He was just standing there. No fine and certainly now suspension the way I see it.

Melo chasing KG for an apology is stupid.

It's going to be fake and forced apology.

Kevin this is Melo you hurt my feeling, please apologise.

Do you really not know how to spell apologize?

You're really gonna pick on him for that? It's one letter off, and what he said was the truth.
