People really need a mentality check here. No major players are gonna get moved from our team at this deadline. The biggest name you'll probably hear is Ronnie Brewer.
My lifetime better have a Knicks championship.

Not necessarily. Knicks could push for more defensive players. JR Smith is not untouchable.

If New Orlean wanted to deal id be down

JR Smith + Kurt Thomas + Chris Copeland
for
Robin Lopez + Xavier Henry

has xavier henry not been giving PT? i remember he was thought to be pretty good coming out of Kansas.

i like robin lopez coming over. i'd rather see what else the knicks can get for JR.

my understanding is jr has a no-trade clause because it is a one year deal (with second year player option). i might be wrong though.

would he exercise it though?

i don't recall him expressing great allegiance for NY. i'd expect him to want to go where he can be a starter. or the man? he doesn't even seem to care much for money. i only recall his beef with being a starter (and essentially an all-star, even more a reason for him wanting to go somewhere where he can be let loose) on a team. i think he'd be ok with being on a team where he can be let loose.

i don't think the knicks should trade with them, but wouldn't a team looking to rebuild like boston want a guy like JR? or would a team needing extra offensive power for the PO look for someone like JR?

We don't know. What we know is we need his consent. He will lose the early bird rights. It might be a concern for him.

The guy we should try to get is Jermaine O'Neal. He is averaging 1.3 blocks in 17 mpg. He is in great shape. Exactly what we need backing up Chandler. We don't have to watch Amare/Novak frontcourt.

find a younger guy who can give us 4.9 rpg and 1.3 bpg in 17 minutes and I am fine with that.

i hate jermaine o'neal, but i've been watching him a lot recently because my fantasy team needs blocks.

i know he's not putting up the same numbers, but are the jazz still really high on kanter, or are they like memphis with thabeet at this point. i know a lot has to do with whether or not they ship milsap (or jefferson) and then having favors coming in as well

That is my only concern, we already have that now.

yeah, was thinking of sheed and camby when JO was brought up.

i am liking that idea. only problem is that PHO would probably only want to deal JO if shump is involved, revolving back to the dudley/shump deal unfortunately.

Unless you are giving up Shump or a first round pick, what is there to lose?

The Suns also have some bad contracts they might want to dump, like Shannon Brown and Beasley. I would take one of those guys back if it would net us JO and/or Telfair. Here's an example: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine/?tradeId=bjgo8uf

Beasley contract is not bad, he doesn't even make 6 million, and most suns fans are fine with him considering hes been producing under Hunter. The suns fans on sbnation want him to be the starting pf next season after they move Scola.

Brown is a player most suns fans want gone, because of his mentality on the court.

Morris has been playing really bad recently and could be traded.
