Have to wait and see how the forum reacts after a win to measure two seperate post game threads. Not a lot of people post GIF's after losses. Regardless of the mood being low tonight, it was refreshing to hone in on strictly analysis.

If I may make a suggestion. Instead of having two threads with one of them focused on Gifs only, how about having two threads with one of them for more in depth analysis (like the keys to the game), and have one thread for pure emotions (Ex: OMG this team is not that good!, We are the best!), one liners, and gifs.

The latest "Gif Game Thread" was lame. It might get better after a win.

Good call. I was going to say the analysis thread was mostly filled with one liners that could have gone in the GIF thread. The posters who took time to post their analysis of the game were solid though.

Also, it would add some more fun to the gif thread. The gifs are just not as funny with only gifs alone There has to be some responses and emotions to add to the fun.

I believe the upbringing of the analytical post-game threads has already been reached success. I like the analysis thread. It is just down to getting the other one to work.

Thanks for making the two threads. I like it. :)

But I come on this site to talk knicks basketball, and I enter the post game thread to read and discuss the game.

I hardly ever post in the pg threads, this is one of the reasons why. But 4 or 5 pages is more then enough time to post your celebrating pics. Maybe even make it a regular thing after a knicks win, but eventually I wanna read and talk basketball.

that's because you're not funny/topical/savvy enough to play them at the right times

or maybe its because I have a life and don't want to spend hours of my day searching the internet for gifs. I've seen the same gifs posted over and over again... How is that savvy?

Limiting GIFs to the first 3 pages won't help, since these GIFs will just end up quoted on later pages. That also prevents any game talk from being on the first 3 pages.

The best thing is for us to get mature about the GIFs and stop going overboard with them. It takes forever for pages to load when a poster puts 12 GIFs in one post that are irrelevant to the KNICKS. It's also tasteless to the female and little kid KNICK fans (not everybody is registered) who come here but end up seeing semi-X rated GIFs of females. There are sites to see naked females, but this one isn't it. So turning a PG thread into an instant porn site is a problem.

We just need to get smart and mature about this. Posting 1 GIF of some kid dancing in celebration of a win is one thing. Posting 20 GIFs of naked females is totally different and is not the time or place for that sort of thing.

I think the first thread is really a "reaction" thread - be it celebration or disappointment.

I automatically skip to the 2nd page of any PG thread to avoid the same wall of tired animated gifs.

This is my plan for Thursday unless someone beats me to the post game thread...

NYK/BOS PG REACTIONS (gif's/1-liners/emotions)
NYK/BOS PG ANALYSIS (keys/discussion)

Two separate threads. Please. It's a pain in the azz to sift through the PG thread trying to find information on the game (in case one missed it) or to engage in conversation about the game. There's obviously nothing wrong with celebrating a big win or morning over a tough loss with gifs. A lot of them are really clever and funny too. Anyhow, I made my point.

Go Knicks!

When I skimmed through through the last analysis thread, I did not see any gifs. All the posters here follow the rules set from the administrators and moderators pretty well.

I like that, that's respect!

I voted for "leave it alone" but after reading the first page of posts here, I think I am more aligned with the "keep booty on the first 3 pages" camp. There is nothing wrong with a good gif of something from the game. For example no matter what, after any number of pages Image

is totally cool

We seriously need to get some ball movement back in the offense. Just watching Melo iso for the last 8 plays of the game was terrible. A better team would have gotten the win.

It's pretty simple.

Allow us to spazz out with .gifs after a big win or loss in the actual game thread, have a separate thread for analysis.

Lock the game thread after the next game thread is created.

I was going to post the same thing. Makes sense. Almost too much sense.
