Dantoni has had rosters with cores of Melo, Amare, Chandler, Dwight, Kobe, Pau and hasn't been able to win with any of them.

His reputation is destroyed

Not only can he not win with great teams. He cant even get them to resemble a unit. His teams are split up into a 2 man group or individuals scoring the ball. There is no "team" with this guy. And the worst of it is he is a awful manager of personalities. His teams not only lose and play individually. But there is no plan. No discipline. No harmony. His best guys play below what they can. His role players take on larger roles. And they just dont get along very well. I said this when he was here and nothing will ever change my mind. When Dantoni is the coach you have no coach. Its all up to the players to make the team successful. D'antoni the players coach is a fraud. He has no idea what to do and is not at all a leader. He is a cheer leader. And thats not in the sense of a insult. Its in the sense of his presence. In the NBA he is a easy going assistant coach that took a few offensive plays out of a playbook he read once. Shows the spacing. Tells the PG to run free. Then stands back and cheers.

What has made the situation worse is that MDA came back after seeing Woodson have success and wanted to prove how good his system really is. He came back with an attitude and you could tell there was going to be no compromise and he'd make everyone buy in. That's fine if you get results but...

I disagree. Lakers had a cheerleader for a short span of time and they were actually winning games.

The Lakers' biggest problem, even before having a savant as their coach is that they literally have no defenders and not a single player has any lateral quickness. There is nobody on that team who you worry about defensively. Dwight still isn't 100% and might never be and nobody can move their feet on the perimeter. Kobe and Artest are too old to move laterally anymore and Nash never could.

I said all this verbatim last summer and everyone laughed at me. My boss who is a huge Laker fan told me I was crazy and Im just a hater and yadda ya.

now when we talk basketball and I clown him, all he ever brings up is "16 championships! how many titles the Knicks got?" I just look at him like  and take satisfaction in knowing the Lakers suck for once.

D'antoni is awful but time for Kobe to take criticism, 2nd coach this season already and same results.

Dwight not getting enough shots because Kobe is in chuck mode instead of getting Dwight and Pau involved. For all the praise Kobe gets about being a basketball fiend, how is he unable to make it work with that team? It shouldn't take a great coach for that team to at least have a decent record.

But you see Kobe shooting regardless how cold he is while he arguably has the best scoring front-court in the NBA and a PG that should be able to make things happen. Unless Dwight is so injured still that he can't play effectively and Nash/Pau both severely declined. I say it's Kobe who's always been an overrated chuck that got carried to titles by Shaq and a prime Pau.

have you seen what happens when Dwight gets touches? He is horrible, bro! His moves are robotic and stiff. He can't catch a pass worth a crap. He just cant be depended upon to carry the team on offense, whenever he gets the ball its either an ugly shot or a turnover.

Lopez is 5x the offensive player Dwight is.

lol @ Pringles mic'd up during the game they're showing on ESPNEWS, "Let's go defense! Let's go defense!" He has no actual plan but knows everyone wants to hear him say something about defense.

Lopez is probably better offensively but Dwight isn't as bad as you make him sound to be.
For example last game I've watched for Lakers was against the Heat and the Lakers completely failed to get Dwight the ball while Kobe was having an awful game but kept shooting. How do you determine if Dwight is bad if he doesn't get the ball? He's averaging a point less than Brook in about 2 less FGA per game (It's actually 4 but I factored in the times Dwight gets fouled of 5 more ft attempts or about 2 FGAs).

Currently, I am afraid that D' Antoni might not just have to fear losing his current job, but being done with the NBA all together now and the future.

Look at it this way. He has a three year guaranteed contract which he will be 65 after. If he gets fired, it makes little sense for him to get another coaching gig as the NBA rules dictate his new salary will be deducted from the money he is owed (nice one coaches' union if there is one). He is better off going TV at this point.

D'Antoni is good for the college game, too bad college players don't have the jumper like they do in the pros. But running the floor is what they love to do.

By the end of the year I think he is gone. I also think the Lakers will probably go after Phil after the season is over like they should have done at first  . But I think Mike Antoni (No D for obvious reasons), is not a NBA head coach and I for one don't really see what's so special about his offense. It's basically PNR in a rare half-court set or a fast break three for a 3pt shooter (Another thing the lakers lack to run Antioni's "System"). Lakers have so much talent and waste it on Pringles.....Shame on not noticing how bad of a coach he is while in New York.

Pringles stopped worrying about the Laker job the minute the 12 million dollar check cleared...

Him and his freeloading brother are nothing but snake oil salesmen,
and the NBA teams represent the sucker born every minute.

The media has sold the unwise a bill of goods when they called this man a genius. He has never won a championship but yet he was dubbed a genius because he had a nice run with Nash and STAT. He was exposed in New York and is being exposed again in Los Angeles. As bad as he is he will still be given a longer leash than Mike Brown.

I was one of the biggest Pringles haters when he was our coach.

And this terrible run of the Lakers is actually making me feel bad for him.

Actually no, I am fcking reveling in this ****. Love seeing his dope of a brother Dan D'Antoni sitting on the bench looking just as flustered, and secretly thanking God that he's getting paid six figures to be a glorified towelboy for Kobe.

We need to send one last FU to Pringles and the Lakers by getting them to agree to an Amare/Pau swap.
