33% is bad no matter how you slice it.

Let them have their 5minutes of fame, when the Knicks won them there was so much less bragging from Knicks,it just shows that ther players and fans are immature, wants to compare to history and fame of the Knicks you will never be at the same level as Knicks in NY deal with it,just like Clippers no matter what they do,they will always be 2nd team in the City.

It's a matter of opinion where you draw the line on a 3 point percentage. This is my grading curve....

43% and higher is dominant (Novak)
37% to 42% is above average (Anthony, Kidd, Copeland, White)
33% to 36% is average/good (Felton, Smith, Shumpert, Prigioni)
32% and lower is below average/bad (Wallace, Brewer)

Wallace is at 32.4% though so he can easily bring that up if he makes just one or two threes his next game.

Among 136 players who shot enough threes to qualify, JR ranks 111th.

http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/playe ... t/count/81

What really kills is his recent numbers. It came from almost 48 percent in November to less than 28 percent in December and January combined.

That is horrible to say the least. This is besides the fact that he is taking more and more threes recently. He was averaging 2.9 attempts in November. He is averaging more than 5.6 attempts since then.

JR's play is a problem.

The Nets are focus on being the best team in New York, you can tell by the Eastern Conference Finals or bust goal

The Knicks are focus on being NBA Champions

33 percent three point shooting looks awful and explains our slip. He was shooting more than 45 percent at the beginning of the season.

We gotta reduce JR's role somehow.

with shump back, felton on his way, and prigs proving he can handle the NBA game i think his minutes will drop, thus forcing him to play smart like he did in the beginning. dude has been playing like classic JR recently

Great point! This alone makes me feel much better about our team. One thing that stood out last night is the number of turnovers, knicks had 5, Nets had 19. We shot 10 more FGs and only 3 less free throws. We should of gotten beat by more then 3, and Im sure were not gonna always struggle shooting this bad. Amare looks like he is getting implemented into the offense and will become more useful as we go. I feel as if there hasn't been enough plays to set up Novak and I know they can do better. They need to run him on some curls and we need to utilize the pick more.

criticize him all you want but there is no doubt he creates matchup problems for NY....the dude is 6-8, too big for kidd, felton, or shump to handle

he clowned nyk yesterday and has the right to talk the day after

only way to get back at him is to shut him down next time

I believe this is mainly to do with his increased role since our PG problems. He needs to go back to being a spot up shooter instead of creating his own shot every time down the floor. When he isn't spending his energy on creating his shot falls more often and we know he tends to become streaky at times. With Shump and Felton coming back, we'll have to see how that impacts the team as far as getting easier shots and also how much pressure it takes of off melo/smith to create for others. Our best games with Felton out has been when Prigioni played his best at setting teammates up. Amare hasn't been very useful in the pick n roll because no one has been effective at getting him the ball. Talk about drawing fouls, Amare can make those ref's blow their whistle.

When Durant is playing I know the whistle blows, but does the ref's?

Why are we being so upset other this? The Nets have proved it so far. If the Refs made the right call in game 2 with Kidd kicking his leg out, this series would be 3-1. Also, even when Felton was here, he never did much against Brooklyn.

I know I may sound like a Nets homer, but sometimes this board can be over-the-top homers, too. It's pretty obvious the Nets are the better team right now, with wins against OKC, NYK, and IND, while the Knicks have lost to teams they should beat to be considered contenders and better than the Nets, like the rondo-less Celtics, Nets, and Bulls.

How do you know it would of been 3-1.. The game was tied at 97-97 a piece and Kidd hit a 3 but misses the FT. Who knows what would of happened. All I know is that we will be the better team come playoff time

Not sure why anybody would take offense to this. He said what he was supposed to say as a member of that organization.

It's up to us to get back on track and make him eat his words.

I like it and hope the rest of his team come out and talk more trash. I want them breathing down our backs the rest of the season right into the playoffs. I believe this will keep our Knicks motivated, focused and sharp. Keep talking Joe, make us prove you wrong.

Wonder how BLopez is feeling hearing his name in trade rumors for DHoward? I hope it throws a monkey in the wrench and sabotage their next three games out West.
