some simple tips for everyone - HIIT. Google it. Practice it. Squats, Pull-ups, Barbell Rows, Deadlift, Shoulder Press, lunges, Bench Press should be your staples. Currently recovering from a separated shoulder so I'm unable to do some of these things.. But trust me.

Dude, that's a hell of a lot of supplements. I'll take a pre, have creatine, vitamins, and protein but that's it.

if you're into your studies.. Fish oil very good for the brain. Also good for inflammation (shoulder). Tribulus helps with T.. Green Tea an extra boost for burning fat. Biotin for the skin/hair.. ZYM is just zinc and magnesium. Big for T... Casein keeps metabolism running at night. Isolate for post workout

I take fish oil too, but that's just because it helps with inflammation like you said. I take glucosamine also, but that's just for my knees - although, didn't take it today and ran 6 miles in 50:55 (meh - definitely could have made it in 50:00 if I pushed a little harder on the recovery jogs) without knees bothering me.

I understand what they are all for, I just think it's a lot. I mean, if it's working for you then go for it...but the staples are really a multi, fish oil, protein, and creatine. I never noticed a difference when using casein and isolates vs just ON or similar structured proteins, but again, if it works for you go for it.

ZMA helped me sleep when I took it, btw. Might get back on that in a little.

The stuff to boost T though - aren't you like my age?

Yea, I definitely agree, it's a bit over the top, but I was trying to get back to 100% post injury as quick as possible, so I was trying out new things. But, you're correct. Multi, Fish Oil, BCAA, and Protein are your core 4. You're groovy as long as you eat right, exercise, and take those 4 supplements.

That run is pretty impressive. I use NikeiD, my 7 mile is 65 minutes. My 6 mile is around 54. I'm also only around 155 pounds so it's a lot easier for me. But a 6/50 is nothing to sneeze at. Keeping the pace at around 9 minutes is exactly what I do. Very hard.

And yea, to be true. I haven't really had sex in about....wow... 8 months now? And I blaze way too often so maybe that's what is doing it? I'm having trouble.. getting off lately. Not really sure why. I gave up porn a year ago as I've gotten more into philosophy and psychoogy and reading what it does to the brain. (lust demons.)

My current running goal is 5 miles in 40. Tested a few days ago, and I did 5 in 40:50 (8:10 split). After that, next goal is gonna be 4 in 30 and then a 6:00 mile (at 6:10?) and 6 in 48? I'm about 215-220 (6'4+) but wanna get that down a bit to 205 ish then start building again - stay around 210-215 probably because I think it's a bit better for my knees.

No lifting goals in mind, but wanna be as strong as possible as light as possible and as fast as possible. Just aiming to be healthy as possible. Keep bench 300+ and deadlift at 400+ and get my squat to 400 maybe?

~40lb away from 400lb squat. Still hoping to have it down by the new year.

Also getting comfortable with keeping faster running times for longer periods. Happy about that.

Yeah, I mean, full price is rough - but found them on sale so I saved a good deal. I feel way more stable in squats, cleans, and presses. I've deadlifted in them too before and felt just as stable - it's like gripping the floor. I've heard great things about AdiPowers, too.

sup guys. I'm an ACSM Certified PT, Adapted Exercise Specialist and current physical therapist assistant for the past 8 years. I got a background in wrestling (All City in HS), MMA and 4 years of amateur boxing (NYC, PR, CT). I recently opened up a blog, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in reading some of the goodies I posted in there.

Whats your core routine looking like ? (Lats, Traps, Glutes, Rectus Abdominis, Obliques?)

I'm 165lbs I been squatting 315 X 8 reps I can max at 405 lbs. I have to say it's mostly from technique and strong core muscles. I have a nice routine I got from a german olympian back in 2008.

One thing I've been doing was take a few fruits, usually strawberries, blueberries or bananas and blend it with some plain greek yogurt and just make a smoothie once a day as a mid-day snack. Reading some stuff online, a lot of sites say different things. What do you guys think?

I just do planks and weighted abs once in a while for core.

Times like these I wish I didn't skip leg day in college.

Ran a 2:55 half mile on Wednesday after heavy lifting and running an easy 2.5 mile / 20 minute warmup run. Thought that was pretty cool. Felt like I had more in the tank and could have pushed for ~2:45-2:50.

Just wanted to pop in with some random info...
5-6 years ago I was around 300+ pounds(Last I weighed myself back then I was at 280 but I gained a lot and never weighed so I don't know exactly what I was at).
I lost a ton of weight with basic diet/exercise.

I took a break for awhile but am now getting back in to it after I gained a little bit of unwanted pounds.
Basically running a three days a week workout(maybe four).
Day 1 - Chest/Arms
Day 2 - Legs/Abs
Day 3 - Shoulders/Back
Day 4 - Cardio

I am also dieting again to kind of get myself back in to the swing of things. The gym used to be my life and I am glad to be getting it back.
