i am not optimistic that JR will be traded. he needs to be given one of two roles: off this team, or spot up 3 point shooter. he's still a defensive liability, although not as bad as THjr. but THjr is a much smarter player.

pick your poison.

Taking the over or under on THJ next yr vs JR? I'll take THJ being flat out better than JR and also he laps JR yr 3

I;m optimistic that JR raised his stock enough with his play in the last third or so of the season so that some sucker will be seduced by the prospect of him raining down 3 pointers and they take him off our hands for a serviceable player and MAYBE a pick of some sort.
All in all he's just another prick with no wall

I keep telling u guys this isn't the stock market. Player value doesn't rise and fall that quickly. JR could be traded if Phil wants. He clearly was unhealthy and his recent play proved it...

Honestly? No, I don't think so.

It's more that I don't have faith in JR than me not believing in Phil. JR has basketball skill, but he lacks IQ on both ends of the court.

No. Hopefully, he finished the season well enough to get traded.
Play time is over.

As easy as it is to harp on JR, I'm surprised more people aren't harping on Felton. At least JR got better as the season wore on.

This was Felton's season in a nutshell...

October 30th to January 30th (30 games): 10.9 ppg, 41.0% FG's, 29.4% 3PT FG's
February 1st to March 3rd (15 games): 8.1 ppg, 34.3% FG's, 29.3% 3PT FG's
March 5th to April 15th (20 games): 9 ppg, 40.8% FG's, 38.5% 3PT FG's

I can cope with Felton being in the low 40's for his overall FG%, but how can you play alongside Melo and shoot a measly 29% from behind the arc for most of the season?

You don't think we've complained and shat on Felton? Where have you been since the beginning of the season? If you want to make a thread similar to this about Felton and see what people think, you'll see that nobody likes him.

JR Smith is great at 6 million dollars. I'm fine with both trading him if it gives us more value and keeping him.

Exactly Phil has had to contain Dennis Rodman and Ron Artest the two most crazy, unpredictable and violent players in league history. It would be easy to make JR a more productive player.

Do you think Phil is gonna coach?

You don't think JR gets shat on way more than Felton? That's all I'm saying.

I'd say it's about equal. JR for taking stupid shots, doing stupid things on/off the court, and his poor defense. Felton for his inability to stay in shape, going under every screen, being useless on both sides of the court, etc. They both suck a lot. I want them both gone.

Did his injury get him suspended for the first 5 games? Did his injury cause him to turn the ball over consistently and shoot bad shots? Why are you making excuses for a guy who had a horrible season. He turned it on the last 15 games when it was pretty much over. There's no excuse for JR Chandler or Felton's piss-poor play. This roster is full of excuses. If Melo does leave they need to scrap this whole thing.
