My bad if you guys think this should be on the Raptors thread but that's not my territory and I think theres some discussion that can be had. I went to summer league today to watch the Knicks game and got to catch the Raptors game afterwards. The rookie that they drafted was doing pretty well throughout the game. Around the 3rd quarter he got posterized badly by CJ Fair and then got a tech for pushing another player in frustration. I was sitting close to courtside on the opposite end and after that dunk happened and I was paying attention to him. He walked straight to the bench and asked to be subbed out and I kid you not he was crying like a little boy until the end of the game. Like tears running down his face that he kept wiping off with a towel. You might be able to catch it on the game replay. I think this says alot to GMs that want to draft these 18/19 year old players that have upside. They have all the potential in the world but maybe they just arent emotionally ready to play with the "big boys". He was doing solid before that moment, but after that it just took him right out of the game.

I don't know if they caught it on the broadcast or if me and people around me were the only ones to see it because It was way worse than that. Seemed like he pissed his pants in front of the whole school

NBA readiness is a totally overrated criteria for draft picks. If hr can play in 3 years, this thread will look dumb.

Look at thj. VERY nba ready, but as a rookie still didn't make that much of a positive impact. If you want an nba ready player sign a fa and send your rookie to the dleague.

Hey guys,

I am Brazilian but had never heard of him before this year.

The little I've seen about it made me really excited as Brazilian, cause we have a lot of dificult in the SF position in our national team.]

I think the Kid have a lot of potential.

To be a top 20 pick? Don´t know.

But if he works in his body, I guess that the fisically tools are there.

About the crying thing. After the world cup, you can understand that the Brazilians have some problems controlling the emotions :nonono:

Alot of people on the Raptors board were comparing this guy to Durant lol. A few Batum comparisons.

Dude doesnt understand english. He was crying because he thought he got ejected. Prolly thought he got kicked out of the NBA and had to go back to his poverty life in Brazil.

he's new to the country and not used to this. I give him credit for at least going for it. we forget what it's like to be 18.

What a weak ass block attempt...

He just jumped to jump, might as well had slid out of the way all together.

Eh, if I was the Raptors, I'd get him a mentor fast. Keep him away from the team during the regular season, make him work on skills. The good thing about this is that he has pride, and won't like losing. Needs to keep the crying under control, though. Wasn't even that bad of a dunk. It's not like he got Mozgoved (the fact that I can say Mozgoved and you guys know what it means, just shows how badly Mozgov got posterized).

I don't think Bargnani can patent the O face since Jared Jeffries mastered it long before him.
