OT: Wizards are angling for Kevin Durant.

Post#1 » by bballoctober » Thu Jul 24, 2014 5:29 pm

I watched their moves this off-season and it's all pointing to recruiting him in 2016. They let go of Ariza and they hired a HS coach of his. They signed Paul Pierce for 2 years and are developing Otto Porter in the meantime. I'm not saying they're going to get him but they are positioning themselves to make a pitch.
I will only cherish the wins and ignore everything else, because that's the only way to survive as a Knicks fan.

Props to Grunfeld. They have done a pretty nice job. Don't know if they will get Durant, but can't blame them for trying

It wouldn't surprise me. There was a lot of talk before this season about them having some money to spend this summer, and they ended up just using some of it to sign Pierce, and then re-signing Gortat, who will now be around after they let Nene expire in summer 2016.

The one issue could be Beal though. If he doesn't agree to take the QO that summer, they will have to either trade him or let him walk.

Nope. We'll sign his brother.

Yeah.. this is pretty clearly their plan. They haven't sacrificed too much in the short term for it either. I think that, if, Durant leaves OKC, then they have really positioned themselves well to add him. They might need to make a couple of long term moves in their front court first though..

It's been apparent for some time. for what it's worth screamin A thinks the knicks COULD be a possibility. so there's that. i think it's much more likely he ends up with the wiz though. they've got Wall and Beal. imagine that. Durant and Wall, LeBron and Love in the east. lawdamercy on this team.

Durant already said if he were to leave OKC the Wizards would be the team he wants to go to. Keep in mind he'll have everything he'll want in OKC by the time he's a FA. He'll get a max & he'll have so much veto power. Of course we all know KD isn't the egoistical type like Lebron, Melo, Dwight, CP3, etc but if OKC were desperate to keep him, they'll give him whatever he wants.

So all in all we really don't have a chance for Durant, just like we didn't have a chance for Lebron and we need to focus on building around Melo. It would be cool to see KD playing in his hometown though.

That would be a scary team and although I'd hate to play then it'd probably be the best show on earth to watch.

John Wall AND Bradley Beal > Russell Westbrook

Ibaka gets just a "slight" edge over Gortat

Man not to sound like an ass but Sherlock Holmes you are not. He is from there and just from the moves everyone could see that. The question is will he leave the Thunder, if he does it is more then likely for home

They'll have to pay Beal the same year they are getting Durant. They'll need a big increase in the cap, but so might we.

Ain't no way Durant is going to the Washington Wizards:

1. It's DC...unless you're a lawyer or a drunk politician, it's Baltimore with more statues.

2. The Wizards is a HORRIBLE name. Can you imagine the Harry Potter & Lord of the Ring fans horrified when they visit that town?

3. For a "Wall" John Wall has a lot of holes in his game.

4. They didn't have Drew Gooden night.

You got NOTHING....
