It's cool and Melo can actually dribble and shoot the soccer ball a bit. But what was he doing there? Any particular reason?

I think he's friends with Dontaye Draper, who plays bball for Real Madrid.

I don't know why but I laugh every time I see him not help his son(I think) back up and just kicks the ball away.

I was stunned by that. A lot of the time when you see even the most talented athletes try to execute a skill-based activity in another sport they end up looking unbelievably awkward. Melo didn't look like a soccer player, but he looked fluid/competent. That's pretty neat.

If he only put in that kind of effort on court in the games he gets paid for.

The thing that always stands out to me about Melo is that he always seems approachable in every video I've seen of him. Very likable and down to earth for a superstar millionaire athlete. I'm happy he's back and hopefully we can win the whole thing in the next 5 years. :D

Totally agree.

Believe it or not he is a likable guy, unlike most superstars in the nba (harden&Dwight).

The best position for Melo is goal keeper.

Gotta love Melo, pretending to like soccer to promote his brand.

We need a "Melo goal protector" thread.

Dat defense doe!
Those last 70 seconds, Randle in a nut shell.

Awful 2 for 1 3PT attempt when we are up 2
Doesn’t close out on Sabonis --> open 3
Takes another side step off balance 3

We got sucked into the Randle vortex where all good feelings go to die.

I feel the same way

he kinda gets a bum rap but i truly get the sense he's a good guy and very friendly

you'd think a nice guy who is sorta blasted by the media for being a little thuggish would be loved in NYC more

Bale is the Lebron James of soccer in terms of physique and strength and look how Melo looks bigger and tough next to him. Lots of people underestimates Melo's physique.

I think Cristiano Ronaldo is a better comparison. Soccer experts tend to label him as "the ultimate athlete" so he's kinda of a soccer's LeBron. Nonetheless, Bale is also a hell of a player.

BTW, loved the absolutely unstylish header!

¡Hala Madrid! They are my Spanish club. :D

Me too, I think that is one of the reasons(other than respecting his 1on1 skill) why Kobe, LeBron, CP3 and a lot of stars in the league wanted to play with him.

His smile is genuine and makes him approachable. Everybody likes a cool&chill guy that can put on a game face when the serious time calls.
