It should be Amare or Bargs. We really don't need both in the rotation. One may even be cut since roster spots might be tight with Thanasis

You feel Thanasis is going to make the club?

The 2009-2010 lakers championship team Had two post players. We may need Someone in the post to provide offense effectively. I think Marc Gasol is our target for next yeah imo.

While I can't reasonably expect the front office to literally flush 12,000,000 dollars down the toilet, I'd take Thanasis over Bargs this year. Bargnani just sort of sticks out like a sore thumb in the locker room. His obvious lack of passion clashes with the new focus on building a compatible and "Knickstapey" team.

I wouldn't draw any conclusions here but FWIW J.R. Smith is playing the lead guard role in some triangle drills this morning. #Knicks

It gets tricky and complicated when you have guys in their final year of their contract, who've been top/highly regarded players in the past, who may not play much or at all. I'm not sure the Knicks can get away, in other words, with benching either Amar'e or Bargs this season.

There should be no doubt we will do everything in our power to acquire him.

its not about that anymore dont you see. They are in their final year. We have no obligation to play them. If they are effective so be it. But this is not the days when you start because you get paid higher than the night guy. Its not going to work that way

yeah, it does become an issue if you do that. probably why they were so desperate to trade amare.

Off of the triangle where Amare or Bargs can look for cutters. If no one is open they can Pull up. I think Amare and Bargs are very capable. Man When is the first preseason game.

Yes but it still does present political issues. You probably have to trade him or release him -- either Bargs or Amar'e or maybe even both (wouldn't completely shock me).

However, I'm on board with using Jason Smith for all those minutes if he fills a role well. I like Bargs and Amar'e more than most here but I'll take grit and cohesion, defense and winning. The rest means nothing.

If you think about it, would Jason Smith have signed on to a 1-year deal if he wasn't given some assurance of playing time? Same could be said for Aldrich who is on vet min. Maybe Phish have already decided what's what here as far as big man minutes go.

We all know what our players are capable to do if they are determined.
