No it doesn't. Yeah you're getting rid of Felton's contract but you're taking on Calderon's, which goes into 2015.
what your forgetting is Calderon can actually play, he is exactly the PG phil wanted.
felton was the worst pg in the NBA
Calderon is one of the worst starting PGs in the NBA. Granted he would make a good backup, but no way would it make sense to dip into 2015 money to have him on the team.
I couldnt agree more. The Knicks are going to suck this year whether we had Felton or Calderon. Everyone is looking at getting rid of Felton as a huge plus simply because it helps us this year. WHO CARES ABOUT THIS YEAR? We have no shot at being good. We don't have a good shooting team. We're not a good passing team. We don't have a good defensive team. We don't rebound well. We're not efficient. We have a very low IQ. Our athleticism is limited. We're coming off 37 wins. We have a rookie coach. No one understands the system.
If Calderon comes in the way of a 2nd max FA or a really skilled player, this trade will look really bad. Calderon is an okay starter. He certainly not a top 15-20 PG. Also, don't you want to surround our future max guys with great defensive players? Calderon is one of the worst defensively. I just don't like the strategy.
