Knicks Concerned Carmelo Anthony's Back Issue Could Be Seaso

Carmelo Anthony is expected to miss the rest of the New York Knicks' road trip with a back injury.

The Knicks are concerned that Anthony's injury could become a season-long issue related to the disk.

Anthony injured his back landing awkwardly after a jump shot in Monday's game.

“Most injuries aren’t necessarily acute or traumatic,’’ Derek Fisher said. “Maybe there were some things that led up to it. Back spasms isn’t something you can push it or rush. Until you can actually play without actually being in spasm, there isn’t anything you can really do. Hopefully that will be soon.’’

And we should. It's the right thing for our future. Anthony will be ok. He needs some help and we need to draft ourselves a future. We don't have many chances so if a chance presents itself we should grab it and embrace it.

And if you look at it, it's better for Anthony's image too, at the end of his career it would look better if he had season ending injury, then if he played the whole season and we were completely terrible. I do hope he fully recovers and if he takes some extra time, even better. If he's out for a year and trains and saves body, he might be still good at 35.

I havent been on the tank bandwagon. But this really works out perfectly.

I was hoping this type of scenario played out if we decided to go beast mode on the tank movement. Have Melo essentially rest his body and not waste his knees playing this throwaway season.

Been calling for Melo to fake a lingering injury for games now. Glad he decided to do so. Less wear & tear on his body for next season & seasons after when these games will really matter.
